Callaway Ai Smoke vs TaylorMade Qi10 LS vs PING G430 Max

By: | Mon 04 Mar 2024

It's been another exciting year for new driver releases, but with manufacturing standards across the industry being so consistently high, it can be a challenge to genuinely separate the model of one brand from another.

Golfshake Equipment Expert, Ryan Rastall, was recently basking in the glory of the fabulous Quinta do Lago Resort in the Algarve. During his time in Portugal, our resident PGA Professional decided to put three of this season's finest drivers to the test against each other; namely the Callaway Ai Smoke Triple Diamond, TaylorMade's Qi10 LS and the PING G430 Max.

Testing each of the drivers on the course and then providing detailed analysis courtesy of Trackman, Ryan put three big names against the others head-to-head and you can see his findings by watching on YouTube or below.  Plus for in-depth reviews of each individual driver you can see the full videos down below.

Ai Smoke benefits from Callaway's Ai Smart Face, which has been engineered by deploying real player data that has educated advanced machine learning. What this has done is help deliver a series of sweet spots all over the club face, meaning that golfers can enjoy better results from a wide variety of strikes. Shaped with a neutral-to-fade biased face and a compact overall head size, Triple Diamond will suit better players looking for workability off the tee.

As you would expect, the Qi10 LS is naturally the lower spin and lower launch model from TaylorMade that has been released to support those golfers who have faster swing speeds. Benefiting from the manufacturer's Infinity Crown, the LS also boasts an efficient moveable weight that is positioned within a unique track system.

This driver has an extremely high MOI (which translates to better levels of forgiveness) courtesy of its 460cc head and heavier backweight. This is PING's biggest head profile thus far, maximising the permitted heel-toe and front-back dimensions, ensuring that golfers will see better results with even off-centre strikes. Accuracy is promoted thanks to a variable face curvature innovation that preserves speed on poorer shots.
