Golfshake Reveals Highly Recommended & Outstanding Venues For 2023

Golfshake is delighted to reveal the 595 venues receiving the 'Highly Recommended' status and 139 venues receiving the 'Service Excellence' status for golf course reviews submitted to Golfshake during 2022.

The data compiled provides a great advert for any courses listed given that everyday golfers who have visited their venue felt the experience matched up to their expectations and they would recommend to others. To be awarded the 'Highly Recommended' accolade, golf courses required at least seven independent reviews and a Highly Recommended rating greater than 90% during 2022. Venues awarded the 'Service Excellence' accolade, required this achievement for the last four years consecutively.

If you are looking for somewhere new to play, then the lists provide a diverse range of venues - from championship courses to hidden gems that offer fantastic value - ensuring that there is something to suit everyone's needs.

Service Excellence

Venues featured in the 'Service Excellence' list this year, includes a variety of well-known courses, resort venues, hidden gems and popular locations including; Woburn Golf Club, St Mellion International Resort, Cavendish Golf Club, Toot Hill Golf Club, Thornbury Golf Centre, The Shire London, Greetham Valley, Longhirst Hall Golf Club, Enville Golf Club, Foxhills Club & Resort, The Belfry Golf Club and Chartham Park Golf Club.

The 'Service Excellence' is calculated by analysing the independent reviews submitted in the Course Section by the Golfshake Community, with the bar set even higher for this year. The successful venues all recorded at least seven unique ratings entered by golfers during each of the relevant years (2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022), with over 90% of them stating they would recommend the experience to someone else.

The most impressive aspect for the 139 golf courses receiving this accolade this year is that they have now been 'Highly Recommended' every year since 2019. An impressive feat for all 139 which highlights the importance they all put on providing not only golf that exceeds expectations but also a first-class service all round.

Similar to the 'Service Excellence' the 'Highly Recommended' list provides a diverse range of courses from links to heathland, to inland links to resorts, as well as this year a number of non-UK venues including; Las Colinas Golf & Country Club, Gloria Golf Resort, Costa Adeje Tenerife, Chaparral Golf Club, Onyria Palmares Beach & Golf Resort and Salgados Golf Club.

This status is awarded each year to venues with at least seven unique ratings for the previous year, with over 90% of them stating they would recommend the experience to someone else.

The achievement represents the quality of service that a venue provides, from the hospitality to facilities and standard of the golf course, with 595 venues receiving this accolade.
