What The Club Says
Situated in Buxton, Cavendish was opened in 1925 and designed Dr Alister MacKenzie, whose list of courses includes the iconic Augusta National, home of the Masters. Cavendish is regarded by experts to be MacKenzie’s ‘Inspiration for Augusta’ and it’s easy to see why. With undulating fairways, sloping greens and well thought out hazards, there are many holes at Cavendish that definitely mirror many of those found at Augusta National.
Cavendish has been voted as a Top 100 UK Golf course for the past 4 years, and was voted as a Top 100 Fun Course to play in 2018. Cavendish is thought by many to be quite possibly the best layout in the world under 6000 yards, offering ‘sheer golfing enjoyment’.

Unbelievabley good
It’s simply a course you just have to play. Every single par three is delightful. The Green complexes are just another level to what I’m used to playing on. The only negative for me was the tea boxes were not as spectacular as the fairways and greens. This is a must play course.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic
Great layout, friendly welcome. You can see the designs for Augusta here too. The 12th green is here, the 13th at Augusta obvious too. A great course.Reviewer Rating

Beautiful conditioned course played in weather that went from sunshine to hail three times. Tee boxes a little spent as the course has clearly had a very busy year. Greens and fairways were great though. I love this layout. Difficult but great fun. This is a must play course. Great value with incredible historical importance. Friendly clubhouse with great food . A special place!Reviewer Rating

Great fun.
Looks stunning and really great fun to play. Not overly long but tricky when the wind blew. Several tee shots that you want to hit over and over again. Couple of par 4's and several par 3 tee boxes are raised up so make a good shot look even better. Par 3's are short so were fun for us as a 3 handicapper and a beginner. Big contours around several greens so you can have fun putting / chipping past the hole and letting it roll back. We did it as a twilight round (5pm) which at £35 each was great value for money. Hired a buggy but weren't held up at all. Will definitely go back again.Reviewer Rating

Superb course!
One of the best courses I've played in the UK.Fantastic scenery with panoramic views and the course is maintained to a very high standard.
The greens are in fantastic condition and although not the longest of courses, there are plenty of holes to test any golfers ability.
