What the club says: Macclesfield Golf Club members have been welcoming guests to their hillside course for 100 years - and many return year after year to enjoy the wonderful views and superb challenge of golf.
For 2007, course improvements include added bunkers and extended tees ensuring the challenge remains for all golfers.

My home club. In really great condition. The rough is much thicker than over previous years. Play straight or you are in trouble!

Surprisingly Hilly
Great course which was quite hilly and enjoys fabulous views over the Cheshire plain. A couple of blind Tee shots so you need to think about where you're aiming. Great greens and we were ready for a drink by the end.Reviewer Rating

Played on a very hot day. Due to the recent drought conditions the fairways were understandably very dry, orange and fast (but then so was Carnoustie last week!). These fairways were slopey too which made it almost impossible to keep on them off the tee (for someone of my standard at least). This is in no way a criticism though (I'm just giving an accurate description of the conditions today). The greens however were excellent (challenging, fast and true). Best greens I've had the pleasure of playing on.
The downside to the round was that we booked an 8:30am tee-off time but at 8:20am the pro-shop was not open so we didn't have a scorecard. No biggy though as I screen-shotted one off tinterweb.
Brilliant course and would definitely recommend. Look forward to playing again in the autumn when the course has soaked up a bit more moisture.

Course set in the pennines looking over the cheshire plain. Very scenic views. Quite hilly so need to be fit or take a buggy. Challenging in that demands accuracy. Sloping fairways to challenge keeping ball on them.Good greens. Will suit all handicappers.Friendly club.

Wet underfoot and a veil of mist over the Cheshire Plain which gradually burnt off. Greens in good nick.playing long because the ball kept plugging but enjoyable nonetheless.

Great round playing in the Captains Day medal. The course is looking in fantastic condition. Tricky pin positions with the greens been in excellent condition and very fast.

Course in superb condition. Greens are absolutely incredible. Some of the best I've played on. Very quick and very true. The reason I don't play this course more often are the hills. This course is stupidly hilly in places - the 17th is madness.

Very hilly course. Very well kept. Was let through by two 4 balls. Very friendly welcome and would definetly recommend. Need to play again as it's my worst round in a long time... One of those days

VERY HILLY COURSE IN GREAT CONDITION. QUITE A FEW BLIND HOLES - YOU NEED TO BE FIT TO PLAY IT AND NO BUGGIES! (THINK THEY WOULD STRUGGLE!)
