What the club says: El Chaparral is an 18 hole golf course which sweeps along the undulating coastline of Mijas Costa, approximately 20 minutes drive from Malaga. Spanish architect Pepe Gancedo who also created two other courses in the area designed this course to perfection.
The course and Clubhouse are unique on the Costa del Sol. Practically every hole overlooks the sea, and the nature of the terrain and hundreds of pine forests means that no two holes are alike. There are six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s and is a superb and challenging course to play.

Great fun course to play

Great challenge
classic parkland course.risk and reward excellently set up.
first-class welcome in Pro Shop, warm and friendly int he batlr.
bargain value & filing food.
considering hiw wet February was- greens were immaculate.
cannot waut to return here.

Very tough course

Well laid out course with many different challenges, but the greens were in poor condition, but there is a lot of building works taking place around the course which wont have helped

Disappointing for the price
Whilst I can appreciate that we played the course during high season I was very disappointed with the condition of the Greens and tees, the former being very scuffed up and the latter looking like a cheap municipal course. An interesting layout, but no particularly memorable holes when compared against other nearby courses.(Round played: Oct 2019 - Score: 78 Handicap: 9.3)

Stunning, stunning course
What a course. Wet at the start of the day (like all Spanish courses) but so many holes where you stand on the teen at think "wow". You need a buggy.(Round played: Aug 2019 - Score: 90 Handicap: 16.1)

good course. I would recommend using a buggy, rather than walking. Pace of play was quite slow

Spectacular!
Not for the faint hearted, or those who want straight forward wyswyg courses. Spectacular views, wonderful setting and some amazing holes. Though also with some blind shots that might frustrate some. Speaking as a high handicapper, glad to have played it, but perhaps best suited to max hcaps of 22 or so ? After the round, sitting on terrace for food and drink is a lovely spot.Reviewer Rating

Proper challenge with interesting layour
6 par 3's / 4's / 5's not always the best layout but each hole here is a challenge from long downhill par-3's to par 5's demanding accurate placement and good tee shots(Round played: Feb 2018 - Score: 82 Handicap: 11.7)

Good for the time of the year
The course was quite soft and muddy in some places due to the soggy winter we have had but perfectly playable. Compared to some of the other mud-holes around it is a good winter course due to the good drainage. The greens had just been heavily cored so putting was difficult but this should pay dividents come spring and summer. Overall although it is a short and forgiving course it makes you think about your shots and the hazards can ruin your scorecard if you're unlucky or not careful. Beer and welcome at the clubhouse are always great.Reviewer Rating

Many hills, can't see the flag
Too many hills a lot of nonsense par 5 (6holes) and other 6 holes par 3 just inbetween to connect the holes.On almost all the holes you can't see the flag and where shot.
Around the greens there were a lot of fringe and collars on reparation.
Green very up and down ans quick. Trees in the middle of the course in please where have no sense.
Unplayable.
