We played last week, It was a great surprise for me to see the very positive improvement of the course and we really enjoyed the course. Nice bar terrace with a nice sea views.

Disappointing for the price

Whilst I can appreciate that we played the course during high season I was very disappointed with the condition of the Greens and tees, the former being very scuffed up and the latter looking like a cheap municipal course. An interesting layout, but no particularly memorable holes when compared against other nearby courses.

Stunning, stunning course

What a course. Wet at the start of the day (like all Spanish courses) but so many holes where you stand on the teen at think "wow". You need a buggy.

good course. I would recommend using a buggy, rather than walking. Pace of play was quite slow

Many hills, can't see the flag

Too many hills a lot of nonsense par 5 (6holes) and other 6 holes par 3 just inbetween to connect the holes.
On almost all the holes you can't see the flag and where shot.
Around the greens there were a lot of fringe and collars on reparation.
Green very up and down ans quick. Trees in the middle of the course in please where have no sense.
Unplayable.

a warm welcome and very friendly staff. the course is tough so don't expect to score highly. there have been some poor reviews but I found the course excellent. a few problems with wild boar digging on the course but very little evidence all in all well worth a visit

El Chaparral is a reasonably hard course and will challenge the higher handicap players. However, it is beautiful, has great greens and the 18th is a great finishing par three that really tests your mettle.
Facilities are very good too.

Played this course three times now - so I guess I must like it. Essentially a parkland course. Like many courses in the area there is normally quite a bit of trouble between tee and fairway. Greens and fairways in good condition.

Played El Chap for the first time July 2012 and absolutely loved it. The main plus point is it's originality, too many of the Costa clubs are the same. This winds it way through mature pine forests, and not the usual scrub of other courses. Greens were excellent, tees/fairways were good. Views stunning, mountains one side and the Med the other. It is tough, but I am an average 8 handicap and shot 82 so not over the top by any means. All staff very friendly and professional.

Very tough course

I found this very tough lots of blind shots...very secluded up in the hills and a course in great condition just a lot of work going on around the course edges at the moment so feels like a building site
