Lukas Michel Wins TP Tour Title at Calcot Park

By: Golfshake Editor | Fri 29 Oct 2021

Bringing down the curtain on the TP Tour's 11th season, a strong field gathered at the revered Calcot Park in Reading, where past tour winners, a European Tour champion, and leading PGA professionals competed on the Harry Colt classic.

And it was former U.S. Mid-Amateur champion, Lukas Michel of Australia, who took the title, shooting an impressive three-under par 67.

Lukas is in the UK as an associate of one of golf’s premier design firms, Clayton, DeVries & Pont, who incidentally are soon to start work on restoring the Calcot Park layout.

Michel played in last year's Masters Tournament and previously studied at St Andrews, underlining his credentials.

In joint second with 68s were Narendra Yonjan (Oxford GC), Ryan Cornfield (Enville), Sean McIntyre (American Golf), Nya Fraser-Lawrence (Shire London) and the newly appointed head professional at Calcot, Alex Lodge.

The golf course was presented superbly by Tom Jennings and his team.

Ultimately, the TP Tour Order of Merit was awarded to Sean Whiffin (The Hertfordshire) with a record third order of merit crown.

The TP Amateur Order of Merit winner this year was young rising star Shergo Kurdi of Jordan, who along with Lukas Michel, also appears in next week’s prestigious Asia Pacific Amateur Championship in Dubai.
