American Golf Experience to Travel Around UK This Summer

By: Golfshake Editor | Thu 06 Jun 2019

American Golf is taking its American Golf Experience to the Royal Cheshire Show and Great Yorkshire Show, before stopping at the European Tour's Scottish Open and BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, inviting people to test their skills on a series of challenges that are designed to get more people swinging a club, whatever their age and whether they’re a first timer or avid golfer.

By taking golf out to county shows, American Golf are setting their sights firmly on developing the game and encouraging more people to have the opportunity to play, even if they’ve never been near a golf club.

Conrad Edkins, Director of Marketing at American Golf, is excited to take the golf experience away from the course and can’t wait to see the public reaction to the unique activity. He commented, “We’re delighted to be touring the country with our golf experience. It’s a great chance for golfers to test their skills on some great fun challenges, but also for anyone to try golf for the first time. We had a fantastic reception when we took them to the Betfred British Masters so we know that golf fans will love them. We now want to show the general public what a fantastic game golf is and this is a perfect opportunity to showcase the game in a fun, interactive way.”

The American Golf Experience will include a chipping challenge where participants have to find the targets to pile on the points; the pressure putt challenge which pits golfers against the clock to sink as many putts as possible from ever longer distances; and finally there’s a unique version of the classic board game ‘Connect Fore!’

Fantastic prizes will be up for grabs for the best performers across the show days, but most importantly, whether participants are first time golfers or die hard golf fans, the focus will be firmly set to fun.

Royal Cheshire Show - 18th & 19th June

Great Yorkshire Show - 9th, 10th & 11th July

Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open - 8th to 14th July

BMW PGA Championships – 16th to 22nd September
