A good little course - relatively straight forward, but still a good test in places - good confidence boosting course.

THis is a nine hole course but using slightly different tees for the back 9. It was in excellent condition and has a freindly community with a duty manager providing service for tee times, small shop and catering. It is very good to take juniors and most holes are on the flat with well posotioned natural and man made obstacles and traps. choose a tee time to avoid the busy sessions has its advantages.

Lymington 9 Hole GC

This is a nine hole course (18 tees) that will suit the higher handicap players. Until you get to the more interesting 8th and 9th holes the fairways are nice and wide, with maybe only one or two bunkers on each hole. The greens and fairways were in decent condition given the time of year, and there was a very pleasant welcome when paying the green fee.

Good confidence boosting course. Obviously not the longest, but played well under foot and people seemed friendly enough. Club house very basic, but could get a hot snack. Probably a few quid too expensive if you had to be critical as it really is only a 9 hole doubling up t boxes. Ripped the course up on 1st visit and im not a low handicap. SHOT 77.... 17.7 HANDICAP

Convenient 9 hole course

Walhampton is like Ronseal. It does what it says on the tin. If you want to get out swinging your clubs then it works a treat. The layout is pretty simple and a great place for beginners. There are some lovely views across the Solent too. One downside though is the greens are in very poor condition at the moment. There are small bare patches all over them which obviously doesn't help your putting. I visit Walhampton occasionally and will continue to do so.

A pleasant enough 9 x 2 course near the Isle of Wight car ferry. Expensive for what it is compared to Paultons, Dibden or New Forest which all have good online deals most days. Good greens, but not much delineation between the rough and fairways. Make sure you don't play on Seniors Days as they block the course and are a grumpy mob.
