Two golf courses set side by side, yet with completely different characteristics, The Avening is more 'parkland' in design, with the Cherrington leaning more towards a 'links' course. On arrival at the pro shop I was greeted politely and professionally and advised of the facilities on offer. The staff in the club house couldn't have been any more helpful and the food served was of a good standard.
Both courses offer a fair test for golfers of any handicap. Each hole was well signed, with directions to the next tee where required. Despite being in the Cotswolds the course was was a fairly easy walk, no large hills to climb.

fantastic course, very challenging in places with super fast greens, excellent facilities and friendly staff.

Cherington course is playing ridculously difficult at the moment. Fairways have been narrowed, first cut is penal, you're happy to get it back in play from the second cut, any wider and it's lost. Real premium on accuracy at the moment, this is how they set the course up for Open qualifying. Saying that, the course is in superb condition and the greens are very quick and true. If you want a challenge, play it now!
