We walked after our drives on the 1st hole to discover that the 1st green is now the 5th green and the new 1st green is now over a tall hedge next to the 2nd tee which is very dangerous if you are standing on the 2nd tee!! The 5th green is also now a blind shot over the same hedge to the old 1st green. It would have been nice to be told about the changes before we started. Also, the 4th hole measuring 471 yards has mysteriously changed from a par 5 to a par 4. What was a reasonable course is now a lot worse and we won't be returning. We did report our concerns afterwards but the only response was "We intend to chop the hedge down soon" Sorry but that's not good enough.

Nonsense prices and no facilities.

Since the start of Covid prices have been increased by 50% and facilities totally withdrawn. The patio furniture was allowed to rot away and is now removed, and the patio closed. The bar is closed as are the toilets (if you don't include the disgusting Portaloo which people are frightened to use) and there is simply nowhere to sit. Facilities - what facilities?

Hmm. This course does 'football golf'....... If you want to read on...... It's ok for a practice round in the summer, new course, open hard to loose your ball. The website is not up to date. Also, and surprisingly, this is the first golf course which takes 'cash only' no cards, there's a bar, food, driving range, why cards are not accepted I do not know?!! At least have a cash machine on site then otherwise it's miles to drive! We went to a very nearby course &played there where they DO accept cards!

Despite heavy overnight frost the course was open and on main tees and greens great course to stop winter getting a hold of the golfer and to be able to get out even though it was bloody freezing

I played the course in February 2017 teeing off at midday. Although the course seemed quite busy when we arrived at around 1000 (we played footgolf in the morning), it was pretty quiet when we played so pace of play was as fast we could play. It took us 4.5 hours to complete the course.

I am a beginner and played with my 7 year old son. We found this to be a good test for beginners, with wide fairways and not much in the way of water hazards or other obstacles. Bunkers were pretty easy to negotiate too and the greens were in good condition. The fairways obviously drain well as there was hardly any mud and the grass was cut pretty short. There are not too many trees or hedges and the rough wasn't too difficult to play out of, albeit the deep rough is pretty testing for a beginner. There is OOB on a few holes, but we didn't find that an issue at all and found more balls than we lost!

We didn't use the range but the practice chipping and putting areas were very useful and in great condition. The owners and other golfers were very welcoming and polite.

Overall at ?23 for 18 holes for myself and my son, I felt this offered good value and whilst we won't be rushing back, I think this will be a good course to play in the winter months, due to the excellent drainage. Definitely a pay and play course that we will visit again though!

played an invitational there on saturday 19/12/2015, greens where excellent along with the course, the competition could of been organised a lot better, have not got a clue as to who won and where the final placings are, visited the club website and it is pretty sparce on any info on the comp, bacon buttie left a lot to be desired with the ketchup being warmer than the actual sandwhich, never played it in the summer months as prefer playing full size courses and to be honest swindon golf club is right nxt door to it and offers a better challenge, its not a course i would be rushing back to visit any time soon.

Nice little 9 holer (you can go round again for the 18). Quite flat (it's next door to a small airport) and some small trees being developed. Not much rough so you shouldn't lose any balls. We enjoyed it and would go back again.

The course is flat, open and fairly easy. That said, it is enough of a test to make it a good practice course and with a price of £9 for 9 holes or £12 (I think) for 18 it is certainly cheap! Some of the bunkers are in poor condition and the greens need a bit more care but the fairways are fine. The club is very welcoming and has changing and shower facilities if needed and a nice bar area with comfy chairs and many tables for a hot cup of tea or a beer.
On my last visit I was very disappointed to see that the mesh fence that separates the driving range from the last fairway is badly damaged and mostly missing which is rather dangerous if there are any lefties with a slice on the range (or someone with am huge fade!), there were a few range balls on the fairway and clearly this is not safe. I have been here a few times and would go again - but only if that fence is fixed!

This is a course that is still maturing but coming along very nicely. It is perfect for high handicappers that are looking to play without getting into too much trouble. I played off 22 & shot 10 under par (although it was my best ever round). Has a good driving range & practice putting area. The better golfers may find this course a little boring but at ?13 for a full round it is fantastic value for money. It is also an ideal winter course as the drainage is superb & better than some of the more expensive courses. The club also boasts a state of the art gymnasium that is well worth a look. Only downside is its a 9 hole looper which can get a tad samey.
