Excellent club since being taken over at the start of 2022 by John O'Leary and team. Has been huge investment/improvement in both courses as well as the club itself and has been transformational. Two good courses with the members Castle course being the pick and more testing of the two but ably supported by the shorter Manor course. Both testing in their own ways and enjoyable and fair to play.
Great staff and very reasonable fees.
What's not to like!

Phoenix from the flame

The new owner has rescued the club, invested time and money and put together a fantastic team
The courses are in great condition with an ongoing improvement program, and the facilities have all been upgraded
If not already, this will certainly be the best club in the area

Massive improvement looking stuning

The staff and management have worked wonders over the lockdown and both courses are now stunning. There are a good mixture of holes and some interesting challenges. It is a busy course so make sure you book early to bet your preferred slot. Only the Manor course is available to the public, with the Castle reserved only for members.

Great Big Course!

Having read a recent review, we were a little dubious about the state of the course but we really had nothing to worry about. Warmly welcomed in the clubhouse whilst waiting for the pro shop to open and given some tips for play. Made our way to the Baron and suprised how good the course was playing. Tee boxes maybe a little long but not a problem. First cut rough sometimes a little clover filled and you may need to club up, which you learn pretty quickly. The actual rough is tough to find your ball and get out of, but with the size of the fairways you really have no business being in there! Bunkers in good condition but not much sand. Greens were a delight - Very good condition and not overly fast. Suprised with the number of Par 4s and Par 5s and really is a massive course that we will be challenging again along with the Baroness.

Played on Saturday and we really enjoyed the course. We played the Baron as there was a big members event on the Baroness.
Course is long and a good test for us as we are fairly high handicappers but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Greens had just been slit and actually putted better than they looked but I suppose the work has to be done to help keep them good?
Great value for money and you could see lots of work has been put in over the winter to help push it forward. We also got a loyalty card given to us so if we play 6 times we get a free game, we will certainly look to get the card filled quickly!
Bar was really busy as the members event had finished when we arrived and there was a real buzz in there. Will definitely return!

Played Saturday and even though it was windy we really enjoyed our game. Were told by friends that the courses are like a bog in winter but apparently they have worked on drainage and it showed as The Baroness was pretty dry, especially considering how much rain we have had recently. Greens on slow side but nothing you wouldn't expect for time of year. Didn't stay for long in the bar as they were setting up for a big xmas party but seemed friendly and efficient in there. Really looking forward to playing again especially in the spring.

Baron course Friday 23rd Oct. Hadn't played for 2 years as the name was very apt, Baron!

However, we really enjoyed it, good welcome and service in shop & bar with food very good. Course was much improved and greens had good grass coverage and were very enjoyable to putt on. Hired a buggy which was a brand new electric one, much better than the old smelly ones! Will certainly return even though I played terribly!
