much improved course
Can see after todays visit that a lot of work has been done to this course... greens in excellent condition. Fairways and semi rough well maintained and plenty of sand in the bunkers. Would highly recommend. Nice and flat for any golfers with mobility issues. A few nice/tricky holes on it. Well done to all the staff involved with its upkeep (inc. shop and 19th hole). South Yorks good'en
long holes for a short hitterlots to think about as you plot your way around
Greens were fast and very uneven which makes it even better to test your putting skills
well worth a visit

Hidden gem
Decided to play this as I’d say it’s the least marketed course in my area. Was pleasantly surprised to only pay £10 for a twilight game in which I easily managed 18, even behind some slow play.The course provides a good challenge in different ways. Fairways are generally wide meaning driver is often an option but hazards are well placed and the rough around greens is also quite dense which makes an interesting and sometimes tougher chip shot.
The 2nd is one of the most unique holes I’ve ever played. 2 very accurate shots needed through the narrowest of tree lines.
The only improvement id offer is to cut the fairways shorter in places.

TOP VALUE COURSE
I've played Thornhurst since the day it opened and I can honestly say this is the best condition it's ever been in and it's real value for money,The only downside to the course is the amount of un- repaired pitch marks is shocking.Reviewer Rating

due to recent heavy rain the course was still very damp and soggy which made good golf difficult everybody struggled to post a good score playing stableford only 2 players scored over 30 out of 38 playing which is very unusual we all know it will improve as it dries out still a good day though
