Fiddlers ferry golf course is a very very easy test of golf. With a standard scratch of 66. Overall it only measures 5070 yards with many short par 4's which one or two should be par 3. I shot a 71 there off of a 12 handicap (play to about 6-8 at home club) and i wasnt even playing well. It seems to be that the staff are just concentrating on finishing the next nine holes and have forgot about the first nine as the course is in disgracful condition. There are to many water hazards on the course and it spoils the looks of it. Im just hoping the course will be a toughter test when the next nine is completed although im abit dubvious about the what ive heard about the length of the course. with the first nine holes only measuring 2535 yards the owners of the course say that the course will measure 6,400 yards when completed meaning that the back nine holes will measure 3865 yards. i very much doubt it will.

based on some of the past reviews I can only imagine how bad this course must have been if it is now improving. the greens are hard - rock hard, like concrete - and even though sprinklers exist they cannot be being used. All 18 greens were more resembling of a cricket wicket: brown, grass dead, and cracks in hard soil. Half of the greens had multiple rabbit holes in them. The fairways were patchy but decent enough, as were the tee areas. Aside from this there are some good holes, short par 4s, challenging dog-legs, lots of water, etc but the course is cramped, holes very close together and i\'d imagine when busy it could get dangerous. The course allows people to play in jeans, trainers and t-shirt, or at least we saw a few groups like this. I would play here again as it is a challenge and has decent holes but their recent increase in prices must be spent on improving the greens

The greens were bone dry when we played, they had gone a yellow/brown colour. Due to the firmness it was hard to stop the ball on a lot of the greens, some of the greens had damage on which hadn't been repaired. The layout of the course is pretty good but it needs investment, the fairways are ok but not what you would call high end. The sand isn't much good, it's more dirt looking than sand.
The range looks nice though and the pro shop is well stocked, it has a nice little cafe as well. Just sort the most important part out though, the course and spend some money on it.

It was my first visit to the course, the fairways were nice but the greens were very dried out and had gone a yellow colour and the roll was quite bobbly, some of the greens had damage on them that had not been repaired, quite big holes which may have been dug by wildlife. You need to land your iron shots short or on the front edge otherwise the ball won\'t stay on the green due to how firm they are.\\The range and the shop look nice, the staff seemed friendly enough. I\'ve marked the course as no higher than fair as their is a lot of choice out there for a similar price which are in much better condition, it\'s mainly the greens that are the issue, sort them out and it would be a nice little 18 hole course.

Course was fine.
The round was very slow however, this was due to the muppets in front and those in front of them. The club really should sort out the people who can spoil what could be a good day and then create a bad name for the club.

After reading some of these reviews, I wonder if they have been playing on the same course I was playing. I know we have had a lot of rain recently and the course was very wet. It was boggy on more than half the course and there were many little ponds on some of the fairways, but I suppose that is to be expected being a brand new course. However, I found the greens moth eaten and need a lot of attention., the odd one that we played had a very nice pattern of clover. I suppose they will mature a lot more with time. One or two of the fairways were in better condition. The tees will also improve and mature with time.. I felt I was hacking my way around a ploughed field most of the time. The ducks and geese wander at will from the water lake and left their remains on one of the greens (need a pooper scooper) . There was evidence that dog(s) had been on a couple of fairways and this evidenced itself later when a large boxer ran amok chasing a magpie that was teasing it for some time. A lot of long wild grass was around number of greens along with very picturesque daisies that surrounded a number of greens. I am afraid we had to walk off at the 11th so I can’t comment on the course from then on.The pro shop is very good , very well stocked with everything you require, good quality golf wear and equipment. The shop staff are very pleasant and welcoming and helpful when purchasing goods and equipment. There is also a driving range which is one of the best I have used, clean and organised with plenty of bays. I will visit the shop and range again, but I think I will give the course another five or six years before I try it again.

a 9 hole course turned into a 18 hole course and to say that its squashed or tight would be an understatement. the fairways overlap and the rough is like farmers fields.
