Members nightmare

The greens are in terrible condition baked hard and very little grass fairways are still unkept. They need to carry out extensive work on the whole course before it can be played on. Will not be extending my membership. What a nightmare.

Nightmare

Played this course in the last few days. Greens are a nightmare very lumpy. Fairways are scruffy and full of wheel ruts grass needs cutting. Bunkers are full of stones and rock hard. Tee boxes are unkept. Won't be extending my membership this year. This place needs investment in all areas. Nightmare of a course.

Disappointed rated 1 out of 5

Terrible course

This place was closed for 7 months and it is worse than last year. Fairways are full of ruts, grass over 2 inches. The Rough is in places is a foot deep. Greens are lumpy and just bear hard soil. Rabbits holes that have been there for years. Bunkers are rock hard and no sand in them. Looks like they are going backwards and not putting any thing into the course. Stay away from this place.

Woeful

played 15th May 2018 and played here a few times over the last few years. I won't be back again. Scruffy tees, fairways very long, they can't have been cut for a week, long dead grass cuttings everywhere - so bad I lost more than one ball on fairway. greens shocking, bumpy, patchy, just dry soil in places, impossible to putt on. Bunkers looks like soil too. Shame really, the layout of the course is a real gem but i honestly have never played a course in worse condition. They closed the course over winter but no point closing it if you're not going to do work on the course to improve it. Only a couple of plus sides... course was empty (although there are obvious reasons why, I only wasted a tenner to play here and at the moment there a fewer rabbit holes than last year

This course is like playing on a farm. Very poor condition, the fairways were uncut and if you miss them by a couple of inches you will be in deep ruff and clover. The greens have damage from rabbits. Bunkers are full of stone's and the tee boxes are the worst I have seen. Big drainage problems. Give this course a wide berth.

based on some of the past reviews I can only imagine how bad this course must have been if it is now improving. the greens are hard - rock hard, like concrete - and even though sprinklers exist they cannot be being used. All 18 greens were more resembling of a cricket wicket: brown, grass dead, and cracks in hard soil. Half of the greens had multiple rabbit holes in them. The fairways were patchy but decent enough, as were the tee areas. Aside from this there are some good holes, short par 4s, challenging dog-legs, lots of water, etc but the course is cramped, holes very close together and i\'d imagine when busy it could get dangerous. The course allows people to play in jeans, trainers and t-shirt, or at least we saw a few groups like this. I would play here again as it is a challenge and has decent holes but their recent increase in prices must be spent on improving the greens

Crap

Played this course on Saturday, loads of potential but very disappointing with length of grass & the tees, and also lack of course/ hole directions, says established 2006 have to say if that’s the case, then something has gone wrong , cos with the right investment & management could be a great course

Great little gem of a course

Quite a short course (which suits my game) but in excellent condition. Very fast green. Some lovely holes. Lovely views. Lots of wildlife. £15 a round. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be playing there again.

This is a great course, still relatively new, but efforts are being made to improve. It is a pay and play, and some golfers ??????????? Don’t help, poor at etiquette and repairing the damage they cause, divots, pitch marks etc. Difficult to vet these people and it’s necessary income for club. \But all in all nice, tricky test of any golfer ????????

Good friendly course, challenge for all

Without having great length the course is layed out in a way that challenges all levels of golfer. Be aggressive and attack the pins and you can reap the rewards or on some holes come unstuck on the narrow greens.
Course condition is good and pace of play is not an issue

It was my first visit to the course, the fairways were nice but the greens were very dried out and had gone a yellow colour and the roll was quite bobbly, some of the greens had damage on them that had not been repaired, quite big holes which may have been dug by wildlife. You need to land your iron shots short or on the front edge otherwise the ball won\'t stay on the green due to how firm they are.\\The range and the shop look nice, the staff seemed friendly enough. I\'ve marked the course as no higher than fair as their is a lot of choice out there for a similar price which are in much better condition, it\'s mainly the greens that are the issue, sort them out and it would be a nice little 18 hole course.
