A lovingly built and maintained course on land that was previously agricultural. The greens have been constructed to the USPGA specification and are high quality. Undulating enough to add interest and make you think about club choice, without being too hilly. Quite open to the elements, so wind can be a factor. A slightly strange layout in terms of the walks between greens and tees. Water is well in play on a couple of holes, especially the par 4 second which is very nicely designed. The owner is very welcoming and clearly takes the quality of the course seriously without being at all snobbish. A nice place for an experienced golfer to have a quick knock round, and ideal to introduce novice golfers to full-scale par 3s.

Perfect course to start playing or develop your short game, best nine hole course for miles, very well maintained, always in good condition. This par 3 course is challenging enough for the low handicap player without punishing the novice excessively. Staff and members are friendly and helpful, value for money is excellent.

I am a beginner and was recommended this course by a local pro with whom I have been having lessons. A good par 3 course to get used to some of the techniques I had been taught. I was not disappointed - well kept, forgiving for a beginner, friendly staff, just the job. I will be back very soon. £7.50 mid week.

Just played this absolute gem of a little course for the first time.its in fantastic condition with the greens being really well kept. If your have a couple of hours to kill and need to improve your short game this is a must. At £8 for 9 holes at the weekend great value. The staff couldn't be anymore friendly and welcoming than they are, felt at home as soon as I arrived.

Having played this course several times in the past, I returned after a gap of several years and it was as excellent as ever. The course is all Par 3s except for the 2nd hole which is a par 4, and is kept in excellent condition.

The fairways are nice and long (ideal for those seeking to use high numbered woods/long irons) and there are 2 water hazards on the 2nd and 3rd holes in the middle of the fairways which challenges golfers of all abilities as it is capable of catching out those who go for it on low shots or not, as well as behind the 6th green which can catch out those who over-pitch their approach shots.

Trolleys are available to hire, and there is a putting green and practice net, along with a small cafe selling refreshments, pro shop and toilets.

This is a course for all abilities in fantastic condition. I wholeheartedly recommend Yarrow Valley to anybody looking for an excellent 9-hole course in the area - you will not be disappointed!

Would have been an excellent rating had it not been for the major work being carried out on a number of holes but still a very good course to play.
