The greens are extremely poor. They are dry, bumpy and cracked and as a consequence very slow which is a shame as the rest of the course is in good condition.

"Nice Course, Greens Need Work"
I have no doubt that the clubhouse and facilities are good, although due to covid restrictions we were not able to use them. The course is a very open one which winds around the main lake, with plenty of water on most holes, which can be treacherous for those that are wayward off the tee with the driver. The course is all about playing for position and can be navigated well with long irons, wedges & putter. Unfortunately on the day we played (16/04/2021) the greens were atrocious, gave up trying to read them as the ball would hop, skip & jump all the way to the hole but as they say you get what you pay for and at ?22 a round you can see why it's so cheap to play there, a bit of investment in the greens would go a long way as apart from this it's a nice little course.Reviewer Rating

Good course

Shame
Course wasn't in the greatest nick, especially the greens, some of which were patchy at best. Its a shame as it could be a decent track with some tlc. Its clear that there has been some investment in the teeing areas, but that's about it. It was a long round too. We caught up with the group in front on 5th/6th hole and then to wait on pretty much every hole after.Reviewer Rating

Nice course, and extremely hot evening.

I always enjoy playing here
Excellent club house / restaurant and hotel, the course is nice but some of the greens were not in great condition not what I expected for the money we paid, £5 less would have been a better price for the course condition on the day.Over all I do like playing here usualy once a year as I live in Essex and next time hoplefully the greens will be in better shape.

nice course
my second round today spoiled by slow play we was a 4 ball pushing up a 3 with a 2 in front and we did see golfers walking on the 11th complaining it will be dark before we get done we was over 4 hours(Round played: Jul 2020 - Score: 107 Handicap: 29.2)

Plenty of water but not enough on the greens
Lovely setting with plenty of water hazards. The fairways were in great condition, as was the rough and most of the bunkers. Sadly though the greens and tees had suffered during the period that courses were closed, and clearly not enough watering was applied to accommodate the dry weather we have had, lending to bare patches. A challenging course nonetheless and one I would recommend when it has recovered.Reviewer Rating
