Deceptively challenging
You don't get an easy introduction here with a 200 yd par three, narrow long green guarded by a bunker atop a steep slope on the lower side and a canal to the higher side, this is indicative of the course, you can't just bang it and chip on most holes, course management is key.The clubhouse is surrounded by an 11th century moat and is frequented by welcoming members and staff who are rightly proud of this interesting club.

Good course
This course is hidden away and pretty hard to find. Its obvious it is a really nice course. Unfortunately we played it after some high winds and bad weather which made it extremely boggy underfoot. I know this is true of many parkland courses but this was more than you would usually expect. One of our group had played it before in spring and said it was superb in nice confitions, which was easy to see how it would be. Would recommend but preferably in good weather(Round played: Oct 2017 - Score: 90 Handicap: 22.1)

This course is a little gem. The clubhouse is unique with its moat and bridge entry. Unfortunately it does not have a pro shop. The course is testing and very tight. Be warned some holes have cross over or shared fairways and the 17th has footpaths, teeing over a green, a tee in your eye line and a road across the fairway.

Played with my society recently. Course was in fantastic condition and greens were excellent. Only issue was with dress code. Club is very traditional and requires ankle socks/sports socks, even though I had played previously with trainer socks. Ladies are also required to wear 'longer' shorts! Steward was incredibly accommodating. Slightly spoilt an otherwise fantastic day. Excellent value for money. Food was good too!
Club members need to be aware that societies bring valuable amounts of money into clubs, rather than commenting on the length of peoples socks!!!
