Always great to play
2nd time playing Wigan GC in an open competition. Friendly welcome in clubhouse and pro shop. Good breakfast. Good practice area. Course in great condition although a few holes had tee mats in play due to new tee beds not quite ready for use. Greens immaculate. Fairly flat course with some nice looking holes. Always worth playing Wigan.Reviewer Rating

Very good
A very nice course which is deceptively challenging (as you can see from my score!). Seriously it's a cracking course, in great condition & the greens in particular were superb. It's quite tight in places & tree lined, so it doesn't take much to be off line & in a bit of trouble. There's also the odd blind drive which I know some don't like. However don't let that put you off.
I'd heard you could clearly see the difference between the old & new 9's but I disagree, I thought they were both very good.
It's a superb layout, it's a great test of golf & its in superb condition.

Nice course, worth playing
Played Wigan GC for first time in one of their open events. Well organised, friendly welcome in clubhouse. No pro shop on site. Good practice facilities. Course in excellent condition, greens true but not too quick. A few blind holes from tee, a couple of tricky par 3s, especially the 1st hole. A bit of walking between some greens and the next tee. Food and drink also good, nice outside sitting area overlooking the "moat" that runs around the elegant clubhouse. Well worth a visit for sure(Round played: May 2019 - Score: 74 Handicap: 5.5)

Excellent Course
Played Wigan yesterday afternoon and the course was not very busy after 1pm. The course does have some strange holes with some holes crossing each other but it is easy to get round. The fairways and greens were in lovely condition considering the recent lack of rain. The tee beds were not good at all uneven and bare but that's the only downside. The outside lawn by the river for a drink after the round was also a plus. All in all a really good course.Reviewer Rating

Greens didn't seem to have been cut in a few days and very patchy. Fairways and rough not well defined and just an overall look of not being cared for like it used to
