Widney Manor GC
Widney Manor course was in great condition, and greens were excellent with pace and layouts. The course is tight for the first few holes and the course opens up. The price of £20 a round on Sunday afternoon was also excellent value for not the longest course but still quite a few challenge's to over come,(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 79 Handicap: 11.7)

(Round played: Jun 2016 - Score: 104 Handicap: 2.3) first time played and was surprised how nice a course. Green were a bit rock hard and gritty, but fairways were cut well and some holes were testing and other a little more forgiving.

Course was in v good condition, though if you ran off the fairway it could be difficult to spot your ball in the first cut. Greens were true but not as quick as they might have been following the overnight downpour. The three of our group who hadn't played here before all said they enjoyed the course and would be very happy to return. Staff in the clubhouse were welcoming and friendly and the book online offer of pie and chips made the afternoon excellent value for money.

Great value for money. In all the time I have played the course it has always been in greatcondition. Some of the holes are very challenging, but creates a competitive round for all levels of golfer.

First time I have played this course and was very disappointed, the course was in dreadful condition, the front nine in particular with lots of standing water and track marks on fairways, course in general needs a great deal of TLC, will not be going back

Course extremely wet due to recent bad weather, kids had also made divets on a few greens. Tee box areas need attention.

Good Value for the price. Greens in good condition. Work required on fairways and teeing areas are poor.

A relatively short course where most would reach the green in relulation through a series of iron shots. It does however have character and offers 8 or 9 holes where the brain must be engaged to gain a par. Unlike the previous review I would say a fair assessment of it's general condition would be that some obviously treat ot like a municiple course but most clearly do not. The greens are fair and true. Bunkers are cared for and thick sand is present throughout. Driving range and general clubhouse facilities are adequate. The motorway is a feature on hole 11 and can be heard on 12 but apart from that you are not aware of it and infact it adds to the round on 11. The first is clearly the signature hole and a par is a top score here. All in all i've played probably 50 course rated from 1-10 and this is a 7 for me. Value for money being a big feature.

Not a very long golf course it can be burnt up IF you can putt as the greens are excellent.

Played a league game here and the course is a bit shabby around the edges at the moment. Fairways were hard to distinguish from the first cut of rough, greens on the front nine were a bit tatty, although on the back nine they were in the process of being treated and ran a bit better. Some strange yardages on a few holes, for example short, drivable par 4's and other holes weren't much longer, par 5's reachable in 2 shots in dry conditions even for a below average golfer like me! Par 3's were a joy to play though, good tests, over water, through small gaps in trees, 2 tiered greens etc. I wouldn't say the course is easy, its not, its just a bit easier than most of the courses I usually play,it probably better suits my game. Saying all of this I would like to return on the days that the council cut the fairways as the course has many interesting holes.
Good facilities as regarding bar/clubhose etc but poorly stocked pro shop, and driving range looked as though it had been through world war one.

Fairly challenging for a course on the shorter side. Par3s need to be thought about. On the longer holes there are some well placed obstacles. Overall a good local course to play.

Good for all weather, has full cart path, unfortunately they let to many on.
If you book a two ball they will try and pair you up which doesn't work and just creates tail backs all around the course. Catch it when it's quiet, good fun
