Terrible customer service
50 mile drive, wasted a whole day. completely incompetent system. won't be back anytime soon. offered drinks vouchers to avoid feedback I guess.Wasted a phone call to check course status, trolley info. I can honestly see why this course is struggling for members.
Plenty of good courses in the area avoid this

Slow round
Too many competitions and golf societies being allowed to play with novice golfers playing extremely slowly. They need a marshal out on the course and beginners should play on the mashie course(Round played: Sep 2017 - Score: 87 Handicap: 14.4)

Decent Track
Excellent course for stay and play golfers of all abilities.Fairways are fairly forgiving and holes not crazy long. Ideal set up for groups with 3 loops of 9.
Course is in great condition and having played golf all over the country on some top courses the greens here were in superb condition.

worth visiting
excellent accommodation!food top notch also
shame only 2 sets of 9 were closed, as was the driving range, due to neighbouring Silverstone gran prix (although the race isn't until next week).
all in all very enjoyable.

Played with a couple of the lower handicap (3 and 8) players from my club, and both seemed to think the course was a suitable challenge - could do with a few signs pointing toward the next tee from the green, as we spent some time checking the small map on the card for where to go next.
Although there was water in some of the bunkers, there also seemed to be plenty of sand for once they dry out. We could not figure out the yardage poles at the side of the fairways, and there was nothing on the cards to help explain them. It seemed to be yellow posts at 200 yards and red posts at 150 yards (most clubs are 150 and 100 for these colours). But we also had to assume those were to the front of the greens, as we came up short a number of times with well struck shots.
I had been telling one of my playing partners that this was a course I would not mind playing my medals over; then, on the back 9 - the motor racing started at Silverstone, and we realised why the course was not busy! We couldn't hear ourselves think, and most conversations took place at shouting level. As I play most of my golf over a course that edges on to mainly farmland, the nose from the racing was a real negative point for me. Such a pity as I had been enjoying the experience, despite losing 3 balls in 11 holes (2 shanks and a duff into the water with my 2nd shot of the day) and I ended up just 1 over my 9 handicap.
I can't comment on the clubhouse or facilities, as I arrived late and had to leave straight after the game, but it certainly seemed large enough to have every facility you would need. As I was invited, I did not know the cost, but what I discovered online seemed to indicate ?20 during the week and ?25 at weekend, which I would be happy to pay to play here again, but I would need to know there was nothing on at Silverstone on any day I return to play here.
