The two excellent par 70 courses, aptly named Spitfire and Hurricane after the famed wartime machines that dominated the skies over Kent, provide a challenging test of golf for members and guests alike.

Had a good experience at West Malling Hurricane course. Tee to green course was in very good condition, bunkers needed a bit of attention but not sure if that's a winter issue.

Brilliant course (Hurricane) and well worth a visit
Really enjoyed our trip to West Malling Golf Club and playing the Hurricane course. The greens were in immaculate condition and some of the best I've played on, which definitely made it worth the £60 on a Friday morning. Some fairways were slightly patchy, but most were in great condition. It wasn't a particularly challenging course and more of a scorers course, but it was certainly a beautiful course. I'd definitely like to return and play the Spitfire course, which is supposed to be the most difficult of the 2 courses.Reviewer Rating

Friendly club with good facilities. Played in March so the course was still under winter conditions. The fairways were OK given these conditions but some of the greens were struggling a bit.

Played the Hurricane course, and the greens were very poor, craters everywhere, really expected better from a club that has a big reputation locally, yes it's December but these were the worse greens I've played on this year

Decent course, tricky In places on Hurricane, greens were a bit slow though which threw us as the putting green was fairly quick. Decent venue but odd ruling about not being allowed to vape on bottom terrace, would love to know why?

I like the place from the club house to the course I think it has golf for the average golfer about right. Course is interesting and in places challenging but enjoyable for a higher handicap player like me.

With the recent weather of course it was wet in places but considering some courses have been closed it was not in bad condition. I really enjoyed the course and will definitely return in summer to try it at its best.

Hurricane
I played with 2 members and it still cost me ?45 normal price ?60.This is not a ?60 course.
?35 on a weekend would be a fair price.
I understand that they want to keep members happy by keeping the play & pay low but pay & play bring in a lot of income from golf & food/drinks.
The course was in great condition, greens were very good.
It's a tough course with water, streams running all through it & bunkers protecting the greens.
There?s a few long par 4?s some tricky par 3?s and a great par 5.
I would play it again because of knowing members.
It also has one of the best golf shops on site that I have ever seen at a golf club.

Bring your own drink
Golf courses are reasonable. Fairways are good mostly. However if you want a drink after then would suggest bring your own as clubhouse closes quite early, even in the height of summenr and the car park is heaving, the barman turns people away, even if you are in a queue.If you pick the right day, the female bar staff are a lot more customer focused

Well worth a visit
My first visit to the Spitfire course for two years and I was really pleased to see the course in superb condition. Although not a long course, most holes represent a challenge for mid and high handicappers with strategically placed bunkers and water hazards.
