What the club says: Kings Hill Golf Club was founded in 1995 on an area of open heathland and woodland on the rolling slopes of the lower greensand ridge in central Kent and has since matured into a testing inland links. The course architect, David Williams, made excellent use of the natural features and gently undulating topography to create a course that has quickly established itself as one of the best golfing challenges in Kent.

my home club

The course is well drained allowing play all year, grass is long in the rough making trying to find the ball in wayward shots difficult, the back nine is more testing than the front.

Another great day!

Weather not at its best, but the course was in excellent condition. Just as it was 3 years ago when last played here. Food and service was excellent.

Good All round

Nice spacious parkland course but beware of straying from the fairways as the rough varies from a couple of inches to a couple of feet tall!!
Plenty of tactical bunker placements requiring consideration before you just smash one off the tee. Very little water to worry about.

In need of some love

This is a good course, well designed and pleasing mixture of holes in a quasi-links fashion. However, the years have not been kind and a lack of investment is clearly apparent as the course is looking pretty rough. It would be nice to see some definition to the fairways and a general maintenance of the place. And for a small amount of money you could install a shoe brush and air pressure washer to remove the mud. It's a real shame seeing the place look so tired and at a costly rate.

Avoid

Heard so much about Kings Hill golf course so myself an two friends decided to throw caution to the wind and pay the expensive green fees (£46.00) compared to nearby courses and go play. Where do I start. We went to the range after purchasing 3 buckets of balls (if we got 20 each we were lucky). Off to the first tee, tee boxes are shocking, uneven, large divots in the marked boxes. Fairways are what I’d expect fro a rundown pay and play course, again divots all over not looked like they are or have ever been filled and every where there is tufts of different grass growing. We had to play preferred lye on most shots around the course. Then the greens which I have to say were fast given the time of year BUT a lot had bald patches, divots that had not been repaired and very uneven. Then back to the club house for a drink and a bite to eat late afternoon, NO FOOD, expensive drink and a welcome like the North Sea, we walked out.

Course in good condition

Ball rolling very fast on fairways. Green in very good condition considering the very dry spell we we gone through. Difficult to get out of bunkers due to the fact that they are only raked once per day due to Coronavirus.

All year round golf

Beautiful setting on top of the greensand ridge in Kent ensures all year round play without winter tees or greens due to the fantastic drainage and the hard work of the club staff. I joined 6 months ago and while I am getting on a bit now, the length makes it a real challenge for me and fellow high handicappers - but always enjoyable!

Course was bare in places but pretty firm, green work going on meaning some are pretty bumpy and some sanded they should be better in a few weeks.

Excellent all weather course

A fairly challenging course for the mid-handicapper, this course is well maintained and remains playable even after the wettest of weather.

Course was in very good condition. Greens are well kept and run quite fast. Bunkers are in reasonable condition. It is a shame that some players don’t rake them properly. One of my playing partners lost his pitching wedge. This was found by one of the ground staff mowing the grass and they promptly returned it to him.
