not a short course and several holes are made more difficult by cambered fairways. The REAL difficulty is the greens... massive and VERY slopey, added to a dry spell, this means you think yuo've hit a very good shot onto the front of the green with a short iron, expecting it to bite and then release towards the hole, only to find that it runs in an arc right the way through 50 -100 feet off the green , only to be stopped by the 2nd cut of rough! nightmare.

Played this course on the last day of our Captain's Weekend away. It's fairly tight (lots of water) so we should have played it earlier in the visit and finished with the easier Valley course!

As with the Valley course, greens were quite slow, though not as slopey as Valley. Bunkers were again rough and could do with stones being cleared and the sand being loosened up or topped up where it is too shallow.

Off the yellow tees it is NOT over 7000 yards, but trust me you will be able to tell you've played a long course, and sometimes it's hard work just to figure out how far it is to the landing zones for some of the tees shots.

Overall I enjoyed it and would like to play it again, but most of our party would not (I was the only one not to lose at least 1 golf ball)!

Played this course as part of our Club Weekend away, staying in the Hotel, so relaxed standing on the first tee. Course itself is good. Greens were quite slopey, so they can't let them get too fast or they would be too difficult to deal with. Bunkers were the biggest problem - very little sand in them and lots of stones, and in some cases weeds! Never saw a greenkeeper the whole 3 days we were there so you have to wonder about whether they are keeping on top of the work needed. Overall impression was favourable, but can't comment on prices because we were on a 3 round, 2 night package.

Two courses. The newest is still very new and open although the older of the too is much better for a few years maturity

Played the Valley Course and I felt that it needed a bit of TLC.  Many of the bunkers had quite a few stones in them.  Just off the fairways the rough was quite snaggy with a lot of clover.  If you are a bit wild off the tee then the rough is really deep.  I lost three balls but found two.

Despite the above it was good value for 20 pounds.

Always a nice yearly visit, although greens this time were not in good nick, very bobbly and in need of a good rolling.
Tee boxes do need attention

Fairways have been cut a little to close resulting in dry ground meaning not a lot under your ball. Greens ok, they have been better in years gone by. Still a very challenging course
