What a treat
Paid £20 each for a round of golf hereThe course is challenging but what I found was that every hole was a different challenge
The hardest hole, the par 5 monument, is a stinker in a good way. You need 3 good approach shots to be anywhere near and the strategically placed bunkers and trees do not help.
The easiest hole on the course 12 the poachers drop, sucks you in to go for the green in two. Beware of the bunkers surrounding the green. Once you are in!

Good course with lots of varied holes and challenges. Greens in excellent condition. Some very long rough if you get offline so beware. Not held up at any point so pace of play was excellent. The only disappointment and it always is, is the clubhouse food or lack of it, only cold sandwiches on offer today. The golf club is part of a large hotel so surely they could provide hot food.

Fast running & good greens
A beautiful late afternoon round on a perfect day for golf. The Welcombe has some of the best views and a fantastic variety of trees. The course was empty so it was millionaires golf.Reviewer Rating

Great day out with nice bar facilities too. course fairly open but, tangly rough between the trees should you hit one there, A very fair test with greens in good condition. well worth a visit. Sands in bunkers were perfect, light and stress free to get out of.

Spring enjoyment

Course in good condition, greens particularly in great condition and were quite fast. Lots of bunkers have had new sand and work was continuing with others. Pace of play was slow, we were a 3 ball behind another 3 ball and a 4 ball. Will always play this course but do not expect any food in the clubhouse afterwards if it is mid afternoon. When we asked if there was any food, the lady behind the bar said hesitatingly - chips/crisps and that bacon baps etc were more morning options!!!!! Have played here many times but it is one of the poorest food provisions we ever come across and it is attached to a large hotel.

Woodworms Society special
For the past 2 years in August and September our small society group has discovered this undulating yet forgiving gem of a course with a variety of challenges, you must accuratley clear the ditches, avoid the water judge the blind holes and just admire the view from the 8th tee which is spectacular.The greens are well kept with a moderate speed and roll. The Pro shop, coffee bar and hotel staff are always very helpful and look forward to playing there againReviewer Rating
