Another Fantastic trip to Birmingham, excellent course
Very friendly welcome for the jubilee open (July 2017)
Practice area for wedges only, balls from pro shop if required. no separate short game area but you can chip at the range if quiet.
Course is 6600 yrds long but you need to play a lot of 22-240 yrds tee shots and shape them into area's, drivers not required on many holes. Greens fast and true with plenty of break, somtimes more than you can see :-)
Mid section of the course is a little confusing, seems to be spaghetti junction layout with 3-4 tee's very close together and criss crossing.
Clubhouse and bar excellent and again very friendly, 100% back next year and hopefully with course knowledge play a bit more solid.
So many fine courses in Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham, get them on your radar.
-1 for last 6 holes, finally go it going but all too late #TommyFleetwood

This is a little gem of a course set in the Midlands. First time on and I will be back. Each hole is interestingly put together and not one you would say underwhelmed you. Attractive from the balcony afterwards when enjoying a relaxed drink following the enjoyment of the play. The team here are helpful and welcoming. Worth a trip.

First visit here and will be back. Beautiful parkland course without really a weak hole. Quite a number of doglegs with some holes needing shot management to be on the correct side of the fairway to avoid being blocked out. Greens were not quick but putted really true with some big borrows. Saw more green keeping equipment on most holes than we have on our entire course. Lack of food option on a Sunday pm was only gripe.

Nicely set out course in good condition. Some of the greens are a bit bumpy with footprints so some putts are a bit of a lottery.

My self and a colleague recently played at Warmley in Birmingham, we were treated to a nice pot of coffee on arrival by a very friendly club captain, thanks Bob, and then met by the golf manager, Tim. We played the course, well i followed a ball around badly, but the course itself was in very good condition, the greens were true and the types of holes would suit a accurate iron player on the first half and then the holes open up a little on the back nine. with different challenges of dog legs, sand and water the course makes out for a good challenging game of golf and is not too demanding on the old legs, recommended.

A fine day was had by myself and a friend recentley at Warmley, course is a challenge with dog legs, water, and convieniently positioned bunkers, first nine holes were quite tight with positioning being the priority. The back nine opened up and required some long shots to make scores. Captain and manager Tim very accommadating and friendly.

West Mids Footballer Golf Day
The West Midlands Ex-Footballers golf day, held in honor of the Cyrille Regis Foundation, turned out to be a spectacular event. Hosted at the picturesque Walmley Golf Course, the day promised camaraderie, competition, and a celebration of Cyrille Regis's legacy – and it delivered on all fronts.
Accompanied by Colin Gibson, the former Aston Villa and Manchester United footballer, our day was nothing short of memorable. Colin's presence added an extra layer of excitement and nostalgia, reminding us of the incredible talent and sportsmanship that defines football legends.
The weather was simply perfect. After months of relentless rain, the sun shone brightly, casting a golden hue over the course. Despite the recent wet weather, Walmley Golf Course was in fantastic condition. The greens were lush, and the fairways were surprisingly firm, making for an excellent day of golf. Kudos to the groundskeepers for their impeccable maintenance.
Our team might not have finished in the top three, but the joy and satisfaction of playing on such a well-kept course, under perfect weather conditions, and in great company were the real victories of the day. Each hole presented its own set of challenges and triumphs, and every swing was met with encouraging cheers and laughter.
The day was also a testament to the community spirit fostered by events like these. Meeting and playing with former footballers and fellow golf enthusiasts while supporting the Cyrille Regis Foundation created an atmosphere of unity and purpose. It's events like these that remind us of the power of sports to bring people together and make a positive impact.
In conclusion, the West Midlands Ex-Footballers golf day at Walmley Golf Course was a resounding success. With amazing weather, a well-maintained course, and the inspiring presence of Colin Gibson, it was an unforgettable experience. We may not have taken home a trophy, but we left with something far more valuable – cherished memories and a strengthened sense of community. Here's to many more days like this, celebrating sport and making a difference.

Society Golf day, Great venue in the midlands
Fantastic course worth visiting, great people and an excellent value for a golf day. The catering was excellent, staff could not be more helpful, just a shame that my golf wasn't good! Can't blame the place for that though!

Solid golf course with great holes.
Located in a nice part of Birmingham. The club house is undergoing a 1.5 total refurbishment so our meet was in a marquee outside with serious but safe building working taking place on the clubhouse nearby. The pro shop is well stocked with a friendly informative pro willing to help and interact. The putting green was immaculate with net nearby too. The course itself is a good test of golf although some more directional signs between holes are badly needed. Fairways were good and lots of trees to content with and I won't forget the 5th hole which is downhill just past some water -tricky. The green were good but played a bit slow on the day. Generally on course- it pays to lay up where you can and not over club. Due to the temp set up,Food was linited- bacon roll and chips were supplied. The staff were friendly though and did their best to keep us refreshed on one of the hottest period of the year so far. I would recommend a visit especially when their gleaming club house is completed.
