What the club says: The Club is set in the heart of Sutton Coldfield on the north eastern outskirts of Birmingham. This central position makes access from the motorway system very simple.

This mature parkland course was designed in 1932 by Messrs. Hawtree and Taylor, prominent golf course architects of the day. Well drained and beautifully maintained the course, with its tree lined fairways, is always in excellent condition. Carefully executed shots and tight control is necessary if a good score is to be achieved, especially over the closing holes, but higher handicap players are also guaranteed an enjoyable experience. The men’s course measures 6293 yards (SSS 70) and the ladies’ course is 5637 yards (SSS 73)

Uninspiring until the 17th par 3

Not the best welcome by the PRO tbh, There is a practice area down near 2nd green / 12th green. Lot of short boring straight holes, fairly wet but it's April and a lot of heavy rain lately. greens OK. was it worth £45 not really tbh.

Great course

Recently opened up the course with s lot of work, lost none of the character, but made it feel nicer.

always a lovely place

Just immaculate always a treat, from the welcome in the pro shop to the etiquette of green staff, I'm lucky enough to know a member, I hope to be one myself at some point. Even after playing dreadfully!!

Best course in England

I loved this course even though as an 18 handicapper it won. It was lush and well manicured and it was also a great day to play it. I played it for the first time and found it to be an accomodating course. I would play it differently next time now I know i could hit 3 and 5 woods into the left hand corners. I was in golfing heaven although the greens completely foxed me but they were very quick and perfect. I only got 2 pars but on another day I reckon I would do much better. The views were glorious and the setting was brlliantlyboutstanding in the sutton coldfield setting.

Testing course

This was a good course with testing fairways on some holes, having long grass just off the fairway. Surprisingly, apart from water ditches crossing a couple of fairways, there were no pools or lakes on the course. Greens were in great condition.

Love this course, I've played many times over the years mostly competitive, West Midland league & opens.
Though competitive situations the members have always been welcoming together with the committee & staff.
If you're on your game the course will reward, however if you're not be prepared to card a high score.
Overall a excellent course with some tricky holes that need a lot of thought, the course will not always favour the brave definitely a thinkers course, choose your clubs wisely.

Course is very well looked after. It is tree lined most of the way around making it very much a straight hitters course. Enjoyed playing here and would recommend.
