Do not visit this course for at least the next 18 months. The greens are the worst I have ever seen. We heard every excuse for them on the day but they are diseased. At no point before we played this course did they advise us of the poor condition and we booked it in January. 27 of us from the work golf society played it and it is the worst course conditions we have ever played in 25 years of the golf society. We were hoodwinked and they offered no reductions in green fees only a free 4 ball for the future. None of us would go back even if they paid us! When we arrived back at the clubhouse after playing a full day of 27 holes we found out that both showers had signs on them to say they were out of order.????

Due to the hot weather the greens have suffered and the course has suffered because of this9

Have re-laid some of the greens and the job has been done very poorly. Prob the worst greens I've played in summer months on a course which previously they were the saving grace of a poor layout.

First six greens were very poor and slow. The rest of the round, the greens were ultra quick, which meant you had to pitch well short of the greens to keep the ball on. First time playing the course and for a person who hadn't played before, there are too many blind tee shots.

Decent course

Decent course and great views. The condition of the tees wasn’t as good as I would have expected but it didn’t detract from the experience.

Fair Course

An average round with my son who only a beginner still had a good round up to 16th where he retired with an existing injury put down 2 8's for last 2 holes for him to card a 116 (lot to learn)

I have played this course a few times, and really enjoy it every time. I cannot find fault with either the staff and course.

Always love this course but it is a test.

I always enjoy this course, we play it at least twice a year and I find it a real challenge every time but enjoy it. The course as had a few changes of late with the 6th now being a good 60 yards longer than before.

Challenging course with some tricky greens, keeping the ball on some of the hilly fairways can also prove difficult.
Course in good condition and you can`t argue for a tenner.

Walmersley is a real test of a golfers ability to play every type of shot there is to play.
The course isn't long although there a few holes where you can wield your driver without fear but it is very tricky. On a lot of holes you need one leg longer than the other and you always have a stiff breeze to contend with. The green fee for visitors has risen quite sharply which is why I put Good instead of Very Good for value for money. The clubhouse lacks life yet still serves a perfect pint of bitter, most players prefer to go to the Masons Arms down the road instead.
