Nice course
Nice course. Plenty of challenges but nothing impossible. Some interesting dog legs. Hardly any flat lies, but good fun. Food is very good. Club house friendly. Has a lot of society play so can get very busy and slow.Reviewer Rating

Good value society course
Found the course very samey, A par 5 that you cannot attack as the ditches prevent a driver from the tee. Some indexes are inaccurate due to length of par 4?s. ..overall good value for money but uninteresting overallc

Excellent Value
Nice course well laid out apart from long walks between 3 or 4 holes especially on the back 9. But well worth the money with the inclusive breakfastReviewer Rating

Always a great day
Have been coming for a number of years and always had a great day. Course challenging enough for our society - food has always been fantastic. This year following work on the greens making it hard to putt upon was our only downside on the dayReviewer Rating

Good course, friendly staff.
Some challenging holes. Greens and fairways are fast. Just a few temporary tee mats still in play. Always an enjoyable round.Reviewer Rating

Tucked away in the Essex countryside
Mature tree line parkland course with undulating fairways some with small climbs. Some fairways had lateral ditches & ponds. Therefore course management comes into play. Most of the Fairways were in good condition. Sadly the greens were very slow. Bunkers some were good some poor.Did not see any practise facilities. Club house & pro shop had friendly staff.
At £17.50 with an English breakfast its great value for money. Overall worth a visit

Looking Unloved
Sad to say, Top Meadow, though a good layout with a good range of challenges, is looking very tired and unloved. Many bunkers fill with water after moderate rain and paths are eroded into what look like shell holes from WW1.Many greens could do with a roller, as they have developed a kind of 'broccoli' finish.
Such a shame. On the positive side, fees are very reasonable compared to many courses and breakfast is very cheap too!

Nice course great value for money
Good course in a very good condition for a very good price ... the only issue is trying to get a morning tee time for a non-member ... it is very popular with societies and the members are able to book in advance. Basic clubhouse and practice facilities on site.Reviewer Rating

Well maintained
The course had several holes offering a challenge and the fairways, which are in good shape, need to be hit if the player is to avoid running into trouble in the trees.Reviewer Rating

Tired course
Have to agree with those that say it is a good winter course compared to many but the dreadful pathways let it down, making it seem rather unloved and very unpleasant to walk / drive a buggy on, even though fairways and greens are mostly very well kept.Bunkers, if there has been appreciable rain, are very hit and miss, with many filling up with water.

Pro shop was well stocked.
One small criticism would be that the practice putting green was a fair distance in the opposite direction from the 1st Tee but this is a minor point. Good day had by our society and the Bar and Restaurant staff were attentive and efficient.
