Hard slog
Very long course, some very picturesque holes, difficult course however has wide fairways.The last four holes spoil the course due to their extremely up/downhill nature

Championship Rough
This is a fantastic course and tough challenge. The rough though was knee high Championship style and you're ball is lost in many areas if it enters, even when you are certain of point of entry. Very tough for high handicappers.Reviewer Rating

Played this course in August, was in good condition. The sand was very poor, damp even though it was afternoon and it hadn't been wet. Course was good but I think it was a little overrated, a bit expensive for what it is.
Lots of walking between holes. We walked well over 8 miles in total, almost 5 hours on the course. Great views of the viaduct on the 14th

We played in mid October and the course was in good condition. We'll looked after and some fantastic views.
A long walk between holes at times but some cracking holes. It's quite open but greens guarded with big bunkers. A challenging course but really enjoyable.
I would recommend playing it.

A very tough course
A very tough course again made harder by persistent rain. The clubhouse whilst small at the moment was very welcoming, a little pricey but very nice. The course itself was set out nicely with large receptive greens but far too many blind shots. The course played very long and I found I had to add clubs to reach areas I thought was accessible. Another potentially great day ruined by the weather so will need to return.Reviewer Rating

Superb course

Fantastic condition
I like courses that you can only see the hole you are playing from the tee. This happens on 14 holes. The view from the 14 th tee is amazing. The whole course in fantastic conditionReviewer Rating

Beautiful
setup for their club championship, but 1 day after Storm Hector, the course could not have looked better - but really tough to play ( or at least tough the way I was playing !). Will want to make an annual pilgrimage here(Round played: Jun 2018 - Score: 94 Handicap: 12.4)

Very good course. Greens were excellent, if challenging. I was a little bit disappointed with the high rough which seemed unnecessary. A good mix of holes and none which could be labelled straightforward. My biggest gripe was with the clubhouse food pricing. We paid for a £20 food voucher in order to book outside the 7 day window for the bunkered vouchers. The menu was tiny and horribly overpriced. We all chose he burger, which was ok at best and came with a salad with no dressing and a handful of overcooked chips. This was just under £10. The remainder of our most eye went on sandwiches for taking out with us. These were a frankly outrageous £5 each. That's £5 for 2 slices of bread, a slice of ham and some lettuce and tomato! I don't mind paying a lot for quality food but this was paying airport prices for mediocre food.

Lovely course and fastest greens I have been on this year. A real beast of a championship course in excellent condition. Gave me a kicking!! Only small thing would be more sand in the bunkers I was constantly in....

I've played this course on a number of occasions though not for a number of years. The course was in excellent condition and a fair challenge off the White tees.

Second visit here and I must say the course is exceptional when you can actually see it (first time played in the fog).
Green excellent except for a little moss which made reading some of the puts tricky. Will be back in the summer.

After wanting to play this course for years I managed to bag a place in the Gent's open in July this year. I am delighted to say that the course lived up to my high expectations! The layout is one of the best I have played, and the course was in immaculate condition. The greens, in particular, were exceptional (the pro told me they were playing at over 12 on the stimp meter!).
I have only one gripe - I found my fair share of the bunkers that day, and their condition did not match that of the rest of the course. Three of them had very little sand in them, so my club just bounced and I thinned the ball through the green. All of the bunkers had lots and lots of very large stones in them. They need to sort that out!
Having said that, I would not hesitate to return.

Having played and walked the course I would advise using a buggy when playing this gem of a course. thoroughly enjoyed it just wished I could have played it better

We played this when on tour 4 years ago. It was a fantastically well kept course then, having hosted the Scottish Open we were told, and I suspect it still will be today.
Given that I had a hang over and after 9 holes was 8 down I have little recollection of the course, I remember eventually loosing 2 and 1 sporting a bit of a come back but one that I could not maintain.
I suppose given the standing of the course been host to a championship event £50 per round four years ago would be considered good value but not when you're from Yorkshire
