Great track
Course is currently in great condition, greens are a nice pace and runpretty true., one or two bunkers are currently gut but others are reasonable to play from.

Good greens, fairways need tidying up
Saturday morning golf, is a good price to play Stockwood. The course is lush and green, the tees are a little bit messy but in fairly good condition, the fairways have plenty of grass, but should be tidier. The semi rough is consistent and not too long. The rough is very wide, but you will struggle if you are in it. The greens are excellent, they look good and the ball rolls well.
Teeing off before 7:30 meant we got round in 3 1/2 hours.
The bar staff are friendly and they serve a nice cooked breakfast.

What an excellent course Stockwood Park is.
After reading reviews, decided to give Stockwood Park a visit, and what a good decision. This has to be, one of the best council owned/run course I've played. The course is in great condition, even after the amount of rain over the past week. No standing water or waterlogged fairways/greens at all. The rain has brought the course to life and it played superbly. The fairways had just been cut and the greens were true, if at times a little slow. The only criticism would be the teeboxes, which could do with being levelled, as they were a little uneven. As I said, this is a council run course and there were rumours they wanted to close it, but the members and local residents were in uproar, so thank god they didn't. It is a great course, with a good mix of holes. Two good par-5's, short and long par-4's and similar, short and long par-3's. Inviting fairways, but with some punishing rough. Well tended greens and even the bunkers had a good amount of sand in them. Off-course facilities, included a decent size putting green, a small driving range and also a 9-hole short course. The clubhouse is having work done on it, but the upstairs bar looked ok and the pro-shop had the normal stuff you might need, drinks, balls, etc. Didn't see any clothing, but don't need to buy any anyway. The course is close to Luton Airport and the M1, so occasionally I had to shout across to my playing partner when planes flew overhead, but it didn't detract or annoy me in any way. All-in-all, I'd definitely recommend a visit, you won't be disappointed.Reviewer Rating

Good value
We had a lovely round. The fairway grass needed a cut and the bunkers need more sand but the green were lovely. It is actually a long course. The first 9 is a tad featureless but the second 9 has some really nice looking holes. It is a fair challenge and fantastic value for money(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 95 Handicap: 20.1)

Slope Index is ridiculous
Slope Index v Caddington is ridiculous. I regularly play Stockwood to 18, but Caddington I struggle to play to 22. Whoever decides the Courses Slope Index is way out!Reviewer Rating

Shocking condition
I have fond memories of this course as I used to play it a lot coming from the area. They clearly haven't looked after this place during lockdown!!!Reviewer Rating

Good course
I've played here many times before and am always impressed with the quality of the course and once again it lived up to my expectations. The only negative comments I have is the cost of the round which was ?17.50 for a senior, when I last played there about two years ago it was about ?12.00. It might be that they have increased it quite a bit to make for the money lost during lockdown. The pace of play was very slow and after the first hole it was a case of waiting to tee off on every hole. These negatives apart I will definitely return here to play.Reviewer Rating
