The tees are a little shabby but as they are used all year round this is to be expected
They have introduced a flag system just recently red front pin placement yellow middle and white at the back of the green .i believe this is a good test for all handicaps strategically placed trees streams and OOB keep you honest. Food in the clubhouse is reasonably priced and always of good quality. All staff are friendly and a well stocked pro shop for all your needs
Trackman available on all bays of the driving range if you want to zero in before you hit the course

There are a few holes where it's tricky to plan your way from tee to Green and others where a good drive off the tee is essential.
Some minor things to be improved include: signage from the green to the next tee - it wasn't always obvious. The few ball washing stands were dry.

Good layout, poor tees
course is coming on well and condition is good. Let down by the Tee boxes only a handful are fkat the majority have a hump down the middle - finding it difficult to get an ideal starting position for the hole.Layout is good with some strategically placed streams.
All staff memebers there are friendly and approachable

They are getting there
Stevenage golf club offers a challenge to all handicaps none of the holes are straight up and down as on some courseSince taken over by Everyone Active they have made great strides in improving the course and facilities.
Lined with mature trees and streams and ditches to cross you need to play strategic golf certain holes have trees placed cleverly in the centre of fairways large oaks narrow your drive options.
The greens are now running true some more tricky than others no tips I?ll let you discover which.
If you like to warm up before your round there is an excellent driving range with trackman in stalled on all bays a chipping area and of course a practice putting green. There is a well stocked pro shop and staff are friendly and helpful. If you fancy a drink and a bite to eat the clubhouse has a varied menu to choose from and the staff always have a smile for everyone. Societies can play here and this is an enjoyable day out

Good condition
Played as a three ball on a Sunday afternoon, it was very busy.Course played well, fairways and greens were in excellent condition, and plenty of moving water in the hazards. Far too many of the tee boxes were in a poor condition, I think there needs to be some investment there.
A good selection of challenging holes, good choice of pin positions, on this day. Would definitely recommend trying Stevenage out, if you are looking for somewhere new to try, and it was a very reasonable price too.

Welcome surprise
A great course considering it is pay & play - the fairways and greens in excellent condition the day we visited, although some longish grass on the fairways which were being own throughout the day, and some tees could do with some work to improve. Some bunkers GUR, and others in play with packed sand, not unusual, following recent weather. But definitely worth a visit, some tricky holes to playReviewer Rating
