Played St Neots for the very first-time last weekend as a visitor. The course is long, narrow, and kept in good condition. The greens are in excellent condition. Unfortantley the club is let down by its members. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel welcomed. The theme of the day was members looking at us with disdain (with a few comments along the way too). Staff unhelpful and happy to chat to members, but not visitors. We’ve only been playing for 2 years, and every club we’ve played at have been welcoming to visitors. The most damming assessment of St Neots is if I had walked to that club as a someone who has just started golf 18 months ago, I wouldn’t of played again.

Uninspiring

Some players may enjoy this course - I played a few holes with a pleasant long-standing member who won the club Junior Championship 40 years ago & now hopes to go on to win the Senior Cup! For me though, the course doesn’t flow well, with too much walking between holes - you have the same long walk through the course after the 1st & 11th. A few blind shots & 2 ugly long uphill par 3’s made this quite forgettable for me.... but I should add that playing behind an impossibly slow society meant this was never going to be a great day.... golf clubs really need to do more to address this problem.

A good test

Course was quite lush for the time of the year and the dry weather of late. Although the course was generally very tidy, the rough was a bit long in places and the greens were a bit slow and starting to burn off around the fringes. Fairways and carries were nicely presented and the bunkers were well raked but could do with a bit more sand and some stone removal. Strange layout but in general a nice interesting, well presented course!

Society day. Greens really good. Club house hospitality and service really good. Course layout and course wouldn't be my favorite.

Worth a visit if in the area or live close. Some very tight holes that require you to plot your way rather than just rip it.

A nice course. The club may need to modernise...

I took a society of 13 to St Neots on a Sunday afternoon. Very pleasant golf course, kept in very good condition.
Will definitely be going back.

The course is green, the fairways are a fraction long and the semi rough is lush. The greens are soft and it is easy to make a big pitch mark, however the greens roll well. The course is simple, provided you hit the ball straight. There is a long walk from the first green to the second tee (surely Harry Vardon didn't design the course like that).

Course was in good condition. Would benefit from some more variety / more challenging holes. Quite a forgiving course.

Course was fully booked and because of this pace of play was extremely slow, often 3 groups waiting on each tee. The round took nearly 5 hours.

Breakfast was underwhelming.

New course for me. Obviously with current weather conditions course was very dry. Short tight course. Almost target golf. Overall in good condition. Even the bunkers.
