Few bare fairways

A Pity
Appreciate that it's winter and that green-keeping staff have a responsibility to protect the course for all to play, however we were not advised that the course was being run with all temporary greens, despite the fact that the weather on the day was good and the greens looked in good condition (perhaps because they've not been played), that said even a ?20 green fee does not make the course good value to play under these circumstances, especially for a local pay and play municipal course. I've played here numerous times over the years but not for maybe a year. I was disappointed with the state of the fairways, the tee off areas were the size of the tee box which basically said they couldn't be bothered to set them to different sides. The bunkers in poor shape. Just generally felt like the muni course it is whereas years ago it always felt more like a private course. The greens were still fairly descent?

Love the course here, played ridiculously long if it's windy so always tough to score low. For a municipal course they continue to do a good job and make improvements like the 2nd on the 18 hole. Drainage still an issue in some areas though I had to take three drops out of casual water but nothing a bit of sun won't fix! Clubhouse and pro shop friendly enough but distinctly underwhelming

Greens need work, tees need work, course generally needs a lot of work. Bunkers not good either. Wouldn't have been so bad if the green fee wasn't so high.

Always a good workout, tho always very wet when it is wet. Usually wet when it isn't in some places... Good holes though that I've played since I was a kid when it was really rough. My son is enjoying it now.....
