Silverstone is a relaxed laid back club with friendly members/staff and generally just a nice pleasant knock. It is virtually always in a good condition, although the course can become a little boggy in the winter months especially the 2nd and trolleys can be banned after a real wet run, but it is nice and wide and forgiving the whole way around. If you find yourself in the thick rough here, which can be as far as 25 yds away over the 2nd cut from the fairway, then you deserve to be in it for playing such a poor shot. But this place can be exposed to the elements and on real windy days that rough can come into play more than you'd like.
It generally though is forgiving so lower scores can be expected. There's intermittent water hazards but again only really poor shots should attract them. The course has a nice easy 'warmer in the bank' par 5 starter so it breaks you in gently. There are 4 x par 5s with 3 being very reachable in 2 for the single figure handicappers, as there are no bunkers at the 250-300yd point waiting to trap you, so make the most of them scoring wise. The 18th I still haven't managed to land on the green in 2 but one day, I live in hope.
The course is flat, fairways always lush, bunkers always raked and well filled with looked after greens and excellent VFM, especially off some of the golfing apps a real bargain can be had. Other than the odd society meet days it's generally fairly quiet and if you don't mess about you can be on your own and off here in 2 1/2 hrs.
No frills, no real expense, no stuffy members, no real difficulty. Just a real nice, pleasant, good VFM course that will have you returning before you know it.

Silverstone is a parkland style course which is beautifully maintained. The greens are always excellent and true.A good mix of challenging styles of holes that delivers a pleasant and satisfying round of golf. It has a friendly welcoming atmosphere which is a reflection of the excellent team running it. Very informal and relaxed - highly recommended.

Only one complaint (not the courses fault). The regular four-ball in front of us from the start, who we caught up to on the second tee, that wouldn't let us play through. Bang rude!
Other than that. Really enjoyable round.
Great course and layout. Shame I won't be around we it matures more.
Good tees and greens. Good, fast consistent speed and roll.
Driving range mats could be better. But well priced.
Nice welcome in the shop.
Very good value for the money.
A good challenge for all levels. Would recommend and hope to return very soon.
