Disappointed
1st 8 holes and fairways ( this side of the road) there were no leaves on the course and the group l was with commented on this, but the other side of the road was totally the opposite . Leaves all over the fairways,mud on the greens,some bunkers unraked. DisappointedReviewer Rating

Good course bad management
Great course but they let a 5 ball play on the course. The round was very slow. I was in a 2 ball and had to wait on the tee box for every hole. I told a marshal on the course and he didn't do anything about it.Reviewer Rating

Course was not in great condition. Greens were slow. Pitch marks not fixed. Wont hurry back to play a course once tresured

I like the layout of the course very much and the early holes certainly penalise you if don\'t hit straight. Hadn\'t played for many years and perhaps because it as a Saturday but the speed of play was very slow. Had to walk off the course after 13 holes after 3 1/2 hours. It\'s a real shame. Facilities are very good now. Excellent range, ball tracking, club fitting etc and extensive shop with lots of choice. I would also recommend the old 18th green which allows you to do some chipping. Maybe one for mid week golf or early start rather than weekends unless time is not an issue.

Its got some great tree lined holes & is usually well worth a round but our visit this weekend was marred by the state of the greens. Very bobbly, patchy and slow, it was more luck if your ball ended up near or in the hole. They need some real work as they\'re not acceptable for the £40 green fee. Disappointing

A decent course with only a few 'nothing holes', most offer some kind of challenge whether it be dog leg, undulation or landing area/approach angle. For the money we paid it was good value, greens were a little inconsistent and a few putts took nasty bobbles etc, but nothing major. What totally spoiled the round was the pace of play, we gave up after 4hrs to play 14 holes, the food van on the 8th or 9th (cant remember which) started the problem, with groups in front of us stopping to have a freshly cooked burger etc, meaning we got to the tee and had 2 groups waiting, and 2 on the hole. We paired up with the 2 ball behind, but was obvious the players in front were jokers, half of them couldnt play at all. I have nothing against beginners but they turned out to be a 3x4 group society, who held up the whole course. The 2 guys we joined with left after 13, after i got back 30mins later, they said they had gone ahead and played the last 2 holes, which were totally empty. I asked in the pro shop why wasnt there a marshal etc, but they didnt appear too interested. Hence my conclusion would be good course for a mid week non peak round, but avoid on busy days.

Course has a nice interesting layout but poorly maintained with grass ridges and rabbit holes in middle of fairways. Could be so much better. Fabulous pro-shop just not in balance with course quality.

No buggies
Surprised to book at 3.24 and then be told No buggies after 3 pm! Walking 18 in this heat at 77 isn’t much fun. When I complained I was told it had been like that for years and I should have read the T&C’s more carefully. The club facilities are very good but the course was unwatered and bottles and food wrappers in many places. With so many good courses with buggies close by, I will not be returning.Reviewer Rating

State of Course
Luckily the course was frozen, otherwise it would have been a mud bath, however because the lake was partially frozen, l did a ?BARNES WALLACE across the 17th and landed in the bunker.Reviewer Rating
