What the club says: The course was designed by Neil Coles and Brian Hugget and opened for play in 1976. Whilst it is not a long course by modern standards, the combination of tree lined fairways and the succession of water holes makes it a particularly challenging course. Playing to your handicap is a real achievement at Silvermere.

Very playable and affordable, tricky in parts, especially the end in fading light. Everyone is friendly and excellent amenities.

Nice Course -great set up

Enjoyable and challenging course. In the present heat wave the fairways rock solid and very dry, but greens in very good condition. Worth playing just for the last two holes!!

Evening at Silvermere

Got out on weekday at Silvermere where after 5pm tee times are £20. Had a great round, fairways were dry but this was definitely helping on the long holes here. Pace of play also excellent, helped by having a starter hut on the 1st tee. Other courses should follow suit. Will be back another evening soon

Tough

Silvermere is a tough track and you need to be accurate, especially on the first 6 holes and last 2.
The finishing 2 holes are spectacular, especially the 17th over water and the near island green on 18.
The greens were lovely today. Very green and flat, with subtle borrows.
The food was very good and the staff pleasant.
The range is excellent and they have the best golf shop in the south of England in my opinion.

Great course

Very nice course in great condition. The highlight of which is the two signature holes on 17/18.

Surprise at the end.

Great course friendly staff well stocked shop, tracer driving range. If you can keep it straight of the tee you'll be fine, venture off line (good luck ????????),great finishing two holes of the yellow when we played 128 yards to carry the lake, then a good tee shot needed on the eighteenth to stand a chance to make par.

Always a challenge

Bit of both on this course, tight and open. Always a challenge but good for any level of player. Greens seems to have improved slightly.

the course in great condition and staff are very friendly. and the shop is to die for. I challenge you to walk around and NOT buy something. Great driving range and the 19th hole is also excellent.

A real delight

Played a twilight round with teenage son on his first round. Am a member of Foxhills which is an expensive local private members course and hadn’t played Silvermere for 20 years. Was blown away with how good the condition and lay-out of the course was and also what exceptional value for money the day was. Good variety of holes, challenging without being overly penal. Scenic and some interesting dog leg holes combined with some forgiving par 3’s and then some breathtaking and really fun water holes. The fairways and greens were really top draw and a pleasure to play on. Wider facilities are exceptional from the driving range to the golf shop which is known for miles around for the range and extent of the products on offer. Pace a little slow with a 3 ball who insisted on 5-7 practise swings each per shot but didn’t take the edge off a thoroughly enjoyable day out.
