What the club says: The course was designed by Neil Coles and Brian Hugget and opened for play in 1976. Whilst it is not a long course by modern standards, the combination of tree lined fairways and the succession of water holes makes it a particularly challenging course. Playing to your handicap is a real achievement at Silvermere.

Found the course in a poor Condition as the fairway & around the greens were poorly maintained with hardly grass with lots of divot. Looks like no effort in Maintaining the course with Water sprinklers even though there is a large lake full of water just by the clubhouse. It’s feels like lots of attention is being given to making money in getting players playing golf & not too much attention to Maintaining the course & the SliverMere Brand. A real disappointment after waiting almost 3 Decades to play the course.
I will definitely not return until the course has been well looked after by taking my comments on board…
It’s would be interesting to hear the Thoughts of the SliverMere Golf Course management team on my experience & feedback.. Don’t destroy the game please.????

Good for the conditions!
The course was in very good condition, despite being closed earlier in the week due to the weather. Even after it had thawed out in the afternoon, the greens were still in a decent condition. There were 3 temporary greens in place however, and I do think this should be reflected in the green fees.

Fairways are Unacceptable
Nice facilities and you can see how nice the course would be in good weather, but the fairways were unacceptable. Yes, we’ve had rain but the fairways resembled a rugby pitch in January. I would go back, but only in summer. Very disappointing. The last two holes are beautiful.

Silvermere golf club
I anticipated a long difficult course but was pleasantly surprised, it was very pleasant and beautiful and not as difficult as I thought. The fairways were lined with trees and it has its fair share of water the only objects I kept finding were the bunkers, lots of them to keep you focused. The last two holes I would say are the best I have played anywhere. 100% great course along with great customer service. If you are hiring a buggy you will need your driving licence as you cross a main road to the next 9. Have funReviewer Rating

As a Society member who had not played this course before, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fairways and greens considering the weather in recent months, holes which weren't too challenging for a first timer without local knowledge and excellent facilities including changing area, pro shop, driving range and clubhouse. Looking forward to a return!Reviewer Rating

Challengin pay and play with good greens and bunkers
Silvermere is a very popular pay and play which means that weekend rounds can be slow. But play midweek, as I did, and you can whizz round. This a challenging course: very tight off the tee with well placed water hazards around the back nine and finishing with the intimidating 17th and 18th which both play across a lake. Greens were in very good condition and the bunkers had just the right amount of sand to play good shots out of. The fairways were a bit patchy and very fiery but that is a consequence of the recent hot and dry weather. If you hit the ball straight you will score well here. Fail to find the fairways and shots will go quickly.Reviewer Rating

Fantastic course
Really enjoyed playing this course on a beautiful day for golf. Course in very good condition. Fabulous signature hole on 17th over the water and an equally impressive 189th hole. Would highly reccommend and would certainly travel from South Cambridge to play againReviewer Rating

No buggies
Surprised to book at 3.24 and then be told No buggies after 3 pm! Walking 18 in this heat at 77 isn’t much fun. When I complained I was told it had been like that for years and I should have read the T&C’s more carefully. The club facilities are very good but the course was unwatered and bottles and food wrappers in many places. With so many good courses with buggies close by, I will not be returning.Reviewer Rating
