WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE
it's very difficult to give this place a good review. the staff was very cold and unwelcoming as well as the price in the bar was total rip off. ?15.00 for a burger, whereby the patty was wafer thin, whereby Mcdonald's burger puts it to shame. there was surcharge of ?1.50 per added item eg cheese or egg. for the price of ?15.00 it should have included all the toppings. the service was appalling as i had to wait for 45 minutes before i got drinks ordered as well as i ordered a vege burger and on the last bite it was undercooked beef. they gave priority to the restaurant guests than the golfers whereby we ordered our drinks and food before the restaurant guests. the drinks was over priced as it seems they added corona tax to make up for the pandemic lockdown in loss of profits.the pro shop was just as bad, whereby the sales assistants picked and chose who they wanted to serve. the men behind the counter at the tills was just as rude and abrasive. i wanted to buy a set of Honma clubs and the sales assistant made me feel that i could not afford to buy the clubs as he was not listening to me, as i explained to him what i wanted and i would like them to be fitted. then an english man approached him, seeing that he was busy with me. as i was talking the assistant walked away to help this english man. i felt disrespected and not valued as a human as well as a paying customer. i walked out and was no longer interested spending ?3500.00 for set of clubs.
i went to play my round of golf and found the greens not playable with pitch marks not repaired nor it was properly maintained. there was pocks of sand as well as when putting these pitch marks & damage on the green moved the ball away from the pin. the bunkers was badly maintained as well as lack of sand.
which should have been a good round of golf turned out to be disaster. i don't recommend this club as it has very poor etiquette as well as poorly maintained.

Great facilities
Well worth a visit. Great facilities and the course itself is well maintained. Not easy, some tight fairways and the last 2 holes over the lake could ruin a decent scorecard.(Round played: Aug 2021 - Score: 90 Handicap: 16.8)

Enjoyable course
First visit here for about 3 years, playing twilight on a Saturday evening. Course a bit tighter and more penal than I remember, especially off the tee but still visually very nice, particularly the first 6 holes and last 2. I remember that it can get pretty damp underfoot at Silvermere and having seen some mixed reviews on here I wasn't sure what to expect, especially following a few rainy days and a generally wetter than usual couple of months but conditions were generally pretty good. I would still only visit in summertime though, just in case. Greens were very soft and a bit slow but didn't lessen the enjoyment. I did seem to be repairing a lot of pitchmarks on each green which is frustrating and something for Silvermere to think about re education for members and visitors perhaps. The main criticism was some slow play. To be fair it was one group holding things up. We still got round in 4 hours as a 3 ball but it was pretty annoying at times. After a few visits over the years I finally got the better of the last hole, which is a real card wrecker potentially. Silvermere is friendly, has good practice facilities, food and great shop too but they need to sort out bigger and better netting around the driving range, particularly near the 3rd tee where range balls were dropping all around us. Overall, it's a good test and we will return but only in the right conditions when it's not too wet. Twilight rate was decent value at ?32.Reviewer Rating

Good ratings for good reason
Considering the volume of traffic Silvermere must get, together with it's extraordinary shop and facilities, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the course was looking, as we approach the height of summer. It's tricky, the first 6 in particular are very tight, but playing amongst the laurel and rhododendron bushes has a lovely Wentworth kind of feel. The signature holes at 17 and 18 were still looking magnificent. Very friendly attendant driving around on hand with drinks and snacks if needed, and pleasant starter who warned us of a potentially slow round. Silvermere all round is excellent, and you can often find a half decent price to pay on a challenging and beautiful course.Reviewer Rating

Good location
Tee boxes need work and ground very heavy considering it's only the start of October, but a lovely course with some testing holes (the last 2 especially).Very slow play due to members not letting you through. Was in a 2 ball which took over 4hours, not good.

A challenging course close to London
I have played at Silvermere GC Surrey over the past few years. It is a well maintained, interesting and a challenging course for middle/higher handicappers. My recent round was a bit slow, a travelling course marshal would help speed up play. The club need to do something about the safety of golfers crossing the road between the 6th and 7th holes. There is a very well stocked and large shop, driving range and bar/restaurant.
