Have been wanting to play for a while but the green fees as a visitor can be a little steep, but if you get a group you can play the course really cheaply, played as a 3-ball on a Bank Holiday for £13.33 per player (only £40 for a 4-ball). I wasn't left disappointed, good identifyible fairways, well kept fair rough, hazards in play for all standard of golfer although not much water. The greens were excellent, very firm, not too quick but ball ran true. All in all a mix of holes, some reachable 5's and all the 3's are short so they provide a birdie chance too, unfortunately I didn't play very well so didn't capitalise, but will go back as there is a score to be had out there so long as you can keep,it in play on some of the tougher par 4's.

Fabulous, fabulous and fabulous again. The weather was poor, neither my playing partner or I scored particularly well, despite playing well. Fairways were lush, greens were 'target' greens, and ran very well. The prices in the clubhouse for food were very cheap (beer was a touch pricey, but only a touch) - this club is into it's centenary year and it was an absolute pleasure to play it! The pro shop was well stockd and every member there treated us wonderfully! A great day out despite the rain! Especially with the added bonus of two for one green fees.

A great club with a unique 23 hole course, with a designated summer and winter round, boasting 5 new holes created in 2005, which provide a 'modern' style feel to these holes, contrasting the existing older holes on the course. The members are some of the friendliest in the area and the club house is welcoming and facilities are very good. The opening hole tee box situated away from the club house, saves the first tee jangles, however the relatively easy opening Par 5 can lull you into a false sense of security. A mixture of dog legged par 4's, guarded par 3 greens and blind tee shots make for a great round. Be sure to take in the signature 10th hole, and indeed the rolling South Yorkshire countryside on the new holes 7-11th. A well managed course, well kept fairways, and excellent greens. Watch for pin positions via the coloured flags as this can make them play a surprisingly different length each time.

D&T embarked on a course restructure a few years ago which has turned a pleasant though tightly laid-out parkland course into something far more demanding. The incorporation of some adjoining farmland has extended the course to nearly 6800yds off the white tees and though the new holes (7 - 11) can get a bit boggy and cut up by the greenkeepers' vehicles at times in the winter, they are improving year by year. (By the way, they've kept the old course layout ready and available just in case the new land gets waterlogged - this can make for a more enjoyable round in winter, anyway).

Though the course runs parallel to a council estate for 3 holes and is unfortunately crossed by a few public footpaths from off the estate, you're soon off into a more pleasant and quieter area of the district. There are a few interesting character holes like the beautifully laid out 6th, the 10th with its elevated tee position (and resident badger population to try to avoid with your drive over a large hedgerow) and the tricky 16th par-3 with an elevated green which I've never managed to hit in one shot yet. The course ends fairly innocuously with a couple of standard par 4s and then it's back for a sandwich at the clubhouse.

One word of advice here for visitors - This is a "traditional" club in every sense of the word. Whilst the Pro and his team certainly make visitors welcome - even when they have a 2-4-1 voucher in their hands (except weekends) - they won't take kindly to:

- changing your shoes in the car park
- collarless shirts/denim/football shirts/non-regulation shorts/shirts not fully tucked in or training shoes in the clubhouse

And you can turn that mobile phone off, while you're at it.

If you can stick within the club's preferred stds. of ettiquette you'll have a very enjoyable round here.
