Played two rounds at Royal Cromer in Sept 2011 as part of an annual golf society weekend. Overall I have to say we were very impressed with the club and the course. First impressions were good when the kitchen contacted me prior to arrival and asked if we wanted to pre-book food for our visit. On arrival bar staff and members were all friendly which really does make a difference. Overall impressions of the course were very good although playing into a strong wind on the Friday meant playing three long par 4's into the prevailing wind which made it a much tougher challenge than any of us expected. Admittedly that changed dramatically as the wind fell and sun came out on the Sunday and they were much more approachable.

The course develops well from a very pleasant parkland course to a really varied inland links. The big elevation change in the middle of the round adds a couple shorter par 4's with tricky elevated greens before you reach the signature Lighthouse hole at the 15th, this is followed by another lovely Par 4 teeing off from a elevated tee into a valley, very much like Hindhead G.C. Conditioning was generally pretty good as I hear they have a new greenkeeper from Hoylake although some of the bunkering could have been better. Thanks for a memorable weekend Cromer. P.S. Food was pretty good to. 12 Scampi!!

Exceptional Golf facility

If you like golf you will love this course. Its history and quality stand piut and the welcome they extend to the visiting golfer is excellent. I loved the history room that is accessible by arrangement illustration g its place in the history of the game of golf overall. The course has some standout holes but has to be experienced to get the full effect. From start to finish it is quality with unsurpassed views and vistas at every turn. It has a big emphasis on its sustainable practices and much of the land is an SSSI. I have been here several times and each visit I find something new to enjoy and take home with me. This is a special venue!

Absolute quality

Such a lovely course and so much fun to play. Looks fantastic, is a serious challenge but so, so enjoyable.
Extra friendly welcome from everyone from the Club Captain to the greens staff.
They even kept the bar open a bit later so that we could have a drink before the long journey home. Exceptional!

We had a great time at the course and everyone made us feel very welcome. The condition of the course was excellent and the views were stunning. We loved the design of the course and how all the hazards were in just the right places. Many thanks to the friendly members, pro shop staff, and catering staff for making our experience so enjoyable.

My favourite course in England

A stunning course that was in fantastic condition when we played (as always).
Unlike some of the top courses you might have visited, this is also an incredibly friendly club - both the members and staff alike.
The Captain even stopped to chat to us after our round, about the improvements they have been making to the course.
No where else I would rather play a round in England.
