great set up..

Not played here for many years, the redesign and work done makes it a much more enjoyable course to play.. greens a bit wooly and bunkers need some love ( and there are lots of them!) but Covid has affected the up keep..
Played with a member , very costly otherwise

A lovely course in the middle of SE London!

The course was in superb condition. I've played there four times now and you can really see the hard work of the past few years on the course paying dividends. The green keepers have done a great job. Very friendly bar staff and the playing members made us feel very welcome

Updated Braid classic

Invested wisely in strategic repositioning of drive bunkers to provide a good test of risk reward decision making. Do't be fooled by a par 71, 6300 card, the well guarded greens compliment a strong course, with an unrivalled historic club house and museum of artefacts that were the origin of many everyday concepts, Medal, Open, Claret Jug ! Well worth a visit.

Course transformation over 3 years with Oldest golf club & museum is a

Strategic replacement and increase of very tactical bunkers re empahises the original risk reward layout of the 1925 Braid upgrade to a Tom Dunn 1892 design. Now almost 6300 par 71 it presents a good challenge for modern equipment but preserves amazing views of an iconic 17th century clubhouse and museum housing unique memorabilia which underpin much of the game's history.

Good course

Decent course but very similar holes. Not too many noteworthy or flagship. Very good condition but not much variety.

Course in fantastic condition. Nice setting, hard to believe you are only 10 miles or so from Central London. Very nice, interesting clubhouse.

Main benefit is the location (close to downtown / Greenwich) and the nice neighbourhood around it. The course itself is rather boring, with many holes that are flat from the tee box to the green, and in poor conditions (admittedly, played in March, but can't see how the poor quality grass and hard rock bottom can improve through seasons). If I had paid20 pounds to play there, my review mght have been more positive, but at 40, I did expect a bit better, even if I do understand the location must be paid for. I'd rather spend an extra 30 minute on the road and play something better for that price.
