Disappointing Attitude
Fourball round booked several weeks in advance, but arrived on the day top be told that they had rearranged a match two days previously so the players could be finished in time for the football that evening. Never thought to contact us to tell us that we couldn't now get our booked tee time. Pro shop didn't seem to care.(Round played: Jul 2018 - Score: 84 Handicap: 12.6)

Played here on a voucher that got a pair on £26 which is good value for money. The course is a lovely test and there are a lot of very good holes we have more vouchers so we will be back. The negative is the welcome we toto the pro shop, the young lad in there well his face was tripping him when We got there and every interaction we had with him left us feeling about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit! Someone needs to explain customer service to the lad before he damages the clubs reputation further

Appears to be a shade of its former self. I agree with previous reviewer, clubhouse staff and many members not all welcomimg. Dress code seems to have gone west and very, very busy on tees and par threes. Perhaps just caught it on an off day but would prefer to play many other courses before returning.

Greens were generally great, fairways were long and tee?s poor.
My first trip to Romsey. Bit chaotic with the free play in the morning. Some very slow golf! Tees were not in great condition but the greens were generally excellent. Fairways were long enough to lose your ball in!!It might be a short course but it's not easy or I made it difficult.

First the negative bit - which is what you all want to hear. The fairways are a bit ropey. Its August and there are lots of bare lies on all the fairways. Greens looked okay but we were playing in heavy rain - so hard to tell. They looked good and the bunkers seemed okay but in the aftermath of several squalls its hard to tell.
The Office and the Pro Shop were - terrific. Very welcoming. Gave us a deal.
This is a very pretty golf course with some holes in wonderful settings. We'll be back. You should go.

Good course. Every holes are different. dog leg left and right; uphill, downhill, long short. It's a really testing challenge and there is no need to be able to hit it long. Crips iron game is required.

Tree lined and very tight needing straight drives or long iron play. A real test to the high handicapper.
A course that I will not bother to visit again as I felt the clubhouse staff were not very friendly to visiters. The course is in average condition where the fairways are a bit stony, all right if you want to change your clubs regulary but to mere mortals like myself I prefer to protect my clubs at all costs. Greens are slick but not in very good condition considering it is a private club.

Give it 3 weeks and greens will be great!

keep it straight
Out behind a club comp pace was slow, but quite enjoyable. Greens were not consistent in pace and some had a lot of unrepaired pitch marks, which for a members club was not a good reflection on members! A tight course that requires plotting around to attain best possible score, any wayward shot off tee or fairway can lead to trouble, so need to keep ball down middle of fairway. Overall a challenge for a high handicap player like myself but would def play again.Reviewer Rating

Nice, compact course with some memorable holes
A good little course that while reasonably short, is pretty tight on most holes so needs good accuracy. Very uncharacteristically, I survived the round with the same ball so had a good experience but things could easily go awry!A couple of very good uphill par 3 holes on the front nine and plenty of dogleg, off camber and hilly holes make for an interesting course which makes good use of its limited space.
Grass on fairways was too long (maybe to help lengthen the course) and it could have been a bit better maintained but overall, an enjoyable experience and definitely worth playing.

Great course worth visiting
Tree lined holes, good test of ability. Not long, and some testing long par 3 holes. Elevated drive from 6 is one of the best I have seen.(Round played: Oct 2021 - Score: 91 Handicap: 20.1)
