Tricky Ricky
Despite the course being relatively short in overall distance which even off the whites is under 5000 yards, the challenges are numerous. As you often read in pro tips - accuracy is essential & a well protected vertical par 3 followed by the only par 5 & then the #1 on the index is quite the opening. But it's enormously satisfying to get a good score on & the holes are varied & challenging thereafter. Another plus is the speed of getting round & a 2.5 hour round is not unheard of. The Greens are excellent & although there are some signs of autumn with leaf piles & early muddiness near the fairways it is a course that can be played throughout the year.Reviewer Rating

The course played ok (for me, 21 handicap). The greens were mostly ok, a few had GUR or mud patches, but it is a public course. The challenge is as normal, quite hard; it is very narrow in some areas and some of the Par 3's are Very Hard! The two things that stuck out to me, were one, the slow play; 4 hours 25minutes for our round, which is awful. There was a competition on, but even so, there is no excuse, for looking for balls over 3 minutes, scoring and chatting on the green and general slow play. The second issue, not so big, was divots and pitch marks.... there were a lot of them!Reviewer Rating

Condition disgusting
Worse condition i ever played. Every tee was terrible, no grass, all torn up. Greens were a waste of time. Buggy ruined the game as the limiter would not let us anywhere remotely near. It even went of as we left one of the tees. Just to add insult to injury, the staff couldn't care less and were sarcasticAbsolute waste of money, DO NOT PLAY

Conditions ruins it
It's hard to feel ripped off for £27.50 on a summer sunday and yet the state of the course leads me to feel this way. Tee boxes are bare and muddy and uneven. Greens have patches and mud everywhere, and are incredibly slow. It's a shame because this is a fun course in terms of layout. Obviously very short but presents fun challenges. The condition just ruins the experience.

OK but could improve some things
The course remains one to play straight on, it has perhaps too many Par 3 but it remains in the humbler shadow of Moor Park next door. It was wet, but drains better than others. Facilities limited but there's a bar and changing room.Reviewer Rating

Getting Trickier
Tricky Ricky continues to challenge the short game & while accuracy is essential so is reading the greens which vary in pace & break. Still plenty of signs of a heavy winter away from the fairways & there’s not that much roll or bounce on them. Roll on SummerReviewer Rating

Nightmare Pin positions
Pin positioning could have been kinder. Putting & going off the green not great. The player to blame. Rain & dew made the fairways slower but no excuses.Reviewer Rating

Tricky as ever
Summer providing plenty of roll along the cambers. Greens should be quick now too BUT grass too long & therefore slow & hard to gauge how much biff required.Reviewer Rating

In Good Condition
Played at twilight rates from 4pm. Following 3 weeks of persistent rain, the course was in good condition and had drained very well.Understandably the fairway grass was a little long.
Greens okay. Players need to remember to repair pitch marks and divots !!

Yes its Tricky!
No heirs & graces. Everyone friendly in this utilitarian environment. A short course? Underestimate at your peril. 2 of the par 3s I couldn't reach with the driver all be it in mid winter. Course was in fairly reasonable condition. Looking forward to getting back.Reviewer Rating

Certainly a challenge
Don’t underestimate this course or it will wreck your card - relatively short but demanding accurate play and very subtle short game around greens that are fast with many hidden borrows.Reviewer Rating

Good
Was a pleasant surprise, used to play here a lot as a junior and course was ok but then seemed to go through a few bad years so haven't played for a while. But all was very nice, greens where ok a little slow maybe but in decent condition, new nets in the practise area but still needs some work on the putting area. ?20 on a Sunday is a great price and had a chat with a few locals who where very nice. Shame the pro shop has closed and the little bit of golf equipment (tee?s, balls etc) for sale was pretty poor. But we had fun on the course and forgot how interesting some of the holes are.
