What the club says: Reddish Vale Golf Club was designed in 1912 by Dr Alister MacKenzie. Every hole is a challenge and despite being a short course in this day and age (only 6086 yards long) it will take the ingenuity of all who play it, professional and amateur alike. The enthusiast will marvel at the almost magical use of the landscape and the way the natural contours and valleys are brought into play. Do not forget the River Tame which meanders its way round 7 of the holes offering a watery grave for the errant golf ball.

Absolute Gem
Reddish Vale Golf Club is an absolute gem. From the moment you arrive, the welcome from the pro is warm and genuine, setting the tone for a fantastic day. The undulating Alister MacKenzie design is superb, testing your course management and making you think on every shot. Every hole is enjoyable, but the par 3s are particularly outstanding, demanding accuracy and rewarding good play. The greens are true and fast, while the bunkers are perfectly maintained. As a bonus, it’s the best course I’ve ever played for picking blackberriesReviewer Rating

Great course worth playing
First time playing Reddish Vale very impressed. Friendly welcome all round. Decent practice facilities. Course in great condition, greens mint. Some great holes, quite tight in places. Please save some energy for the 18th, steep uphill climb towards the clubhouse. Certainly on my return to list.Reviewer Rating

Belting course
First time here and what a delight,Well defined fairways and fast tricky greens, The 18th is a little steep but it adds character speaking to members we met who were friendly and helpful they may be altering it ,I hope not. I definitely recommend R.V and look forward to playing this fantastic course again.Steve (Wigan)

Clubhouse looks great
Food well priced and well worth visiting
Very helpful pro
But...
First few holes, we found dangerous.
We nearly got hit twice, very uncomfortable..
Low handicappers, this probably wouldnt effect...
We just felt this lets a very good course & challenge down
Definitely worth playing, but be careful ????

Urban Augusta
After playing here it makes a lot of other courses seem like fields with flags in. We had some trouble finding the way in so had a chance to take in the inauspicious surroundings. It’s amazing to find such a fantastic course in an urban area. The first five holes are great and then you move to the sixth and the plot of land just opens out in front of you. It’s incredible how the course threads through and integrates with the landscape. The good doctor was truly a genius of course design. I would join tomorrow if I was a little more local.Reviewer Rating

A Proper Golf Course
Can't believe I've never played here before. Fabulous course- Plotted between the River which seems to be on every hole after the first 3. Lots of history- The Mackenzie trail a huge pull to play. Can't wait to return when I doubt I?ll birdie the last again as I did first time.Staff in Pro-shop very welcoming and helpful..

Fantastic course
This is a Mackenzie course and what a pleasure it is to play here. The pro was very helpful and gave me all the information I needed. The top 5 holes are a nice start into a tougher rest of the course. The design is amazing with lots to look at, think about and play shots around or over. The greens were very firm but the ball rolled really well. The fairways are comfortable on your feet. The rough is very deep, not only would you lose a ball, you could lose a bag and trolley. There are a couple of longer walks from one green to the next tee (5th to 6th, 10th to 11th, 16th to 17th). The last few holes are tricky and you could drop shots even playing good golf. The 18th is a very steep hill to finish. This is not a course for novice golfers.Reviewer Rating
