Ive been looking forward to playing this course for a long time as hearing and reading good reviews about the place. Don't let this fool you this course is shocking. The condition of the course was like a municipal tee's not sign posted clearly we found ourselves lost a few times, tee's too far away from greens. And to top the whole experience off the staff and members to add were very rude and 'snotty' and the food was cold and came wrong. All in all a nightmare. I will not be returning...

The golf course is unique and very much risk and reward. However, in my opinion the quality has declined in comparison to previous visits. The food provided pre round was awful and offered no value whatsoever. The Chef was rude and obnoxious and set the wrong tone from the outset. Its a shame but these factors combined will not see me going back to Reddish Vale...theres far too many courses out there to play without wondering if things will get better.

Course in great condition
Very tough
Greens are very good and true.
Clubhouse looks great
Food well priced and well worth visiting
Very helpful pro
But...
First few holes, we found dangerous.
We nearly got hit twice, very uncomfortable..
Low handicappers, this probably wouldnt effect...
We just felt this lets a very good course & challenge down

A challenging course, if not a little confusing in the middle section. The course was wet from constant rain, yet it played reasonably well. The eighteenth nearly did my golfing partner in walking up that "Cardiac hill".

Went there last week on our Captain's day out from my club. A mixed bag, tough track, not for a short player with a tendency to hook. A number of bunkers were GUR,( shouldn't they be "out of play"?) there are a lot of them though. Tees poor but greens good. Some stand out holes, the 6th is one. I play off 19 and I really enjoyed the challenge, but it was a 4bbb stableford and my partner off 10 played rather well and I was OK, and we won. Would I go back? Probably, but not with my pub society, some of them would be in the bar after 5.

Challenging 18 hole course, very scenic with some lovely elevated tee positions, set in and around valley with river, demanding tactical accuracy.
Requires physical fitness especially on arriving at the 18th hole with high elevated green (definitely a heartbreak hill when pulling a trolley up it)
Enjoyed the course very much and one day, hopefully, will master it.

Cracking course

Belting course
First time here and what a delight,Well defined fairways and fast tricky greens, The 18th is a little steep but it adds character speaking to members we met who were friendly and helpful they may be altering it ,I hope not. I definitely recommend R.V and look forward to playing this fantastic course again.Steve (Wigan)

Real hidden gem, would never think you are in the middle of town as you wonder round the river surrounded by trees. Mckenzie design is fantastic with no two holes the same. Position off the tee is crucial if you want to score well. Lots of opportunities if you put the ball on the right place. Some fantastic looking holes with the 14th and 16th along the riverbank particular favourites. The 18th is the only hole that is a let down and the climb back up to the club house is extreme but don't let that put you off! Greens were fantastic, quick and true, the tee boxes were a bit scruffy and have suffered from the dry weather but other than that the course was is great condition. A true hidden gem that I would like to keep a secret!

18th a killer
Great course not that long but some tricky holes very hot when played some greens gur however they have a plan in place and the bunkers are being sanded and renewed over the next few months will play again for sure(Round played: Jun 2017 - Score: 79 Handicap: 12.5)

Played reddish vale on Tuesday 26th April 2016.was in great condition given all the rain we have had, greens where in great nic. Will be back in summer.would recommend playing this course.

Played here quite a few times now. Usually a great course, today 3 holes were closed for improvements which was a shame but who can argue with a club improving their course. Well worth a round here.

A very friendly club. The was in great condidtion. It is very challenging, especially the 18th, which is a straight par 4 but the last 150yrds are 45 degress up hill.

Very well designed course with many interesting holes, very hilly though and hiring a cart is strongly recommended. This long and very tough course is fairly priced but can take a long time to get round at the weekend, approx 4 hours for a 2 ball.

Played here last week after having the nice warm weather. The course looked amazing and was in great condition. Loved every hole and was a test on some holes. Would recommend playing here. Just be prepared for the last hole one which is a massive up hill. Great course though

Beautiful course, quite hilly in places and held a lot of water. In fairness it had been raining heavily the day before. Hole no 18 is known locally as "heart attack hill", so beware if you struggle with hills or aren't in the best of health.
