Superb course ,friendly clubhouse and members . Very down to earth not at all cliquey. Always a disappointment when you end up playing the inner loop. This misses out the sea holes which are the best holes on the course. The club will do a running scoreboard for you which our members really enjoyed. Food is always top drawer.

The full course was open so we played the sea holes for the first time. What a contrast to the front 9.
Super fast greens even in March

Having played there many moons ago, I have to agree with Jeffrey. This course is the equal of its more famous neighbour, Royal Porthcawl, which also has one of the toughest finishes I have ever encountered in its four closing holes.

An excellent test of golf, as most links are.

Perfect conditions made this ideal to play in while taking in the fantastic views around. Lots of breaks on the greens making them hard to read but weren’t as fast as expected. Highly recommend if you have the chance to play but cannot imagine how much harder it would be if the conditions aren’t benign.

Played P&K as a golf society (24 players) on a Friday. Course was immaculate and fantastic greens. The back 9 on most reviews is always hyped and the front 9 almost forgot. I can honestly say, the back 9 is phenomenal, but the front 9 is great. The staff were very attentive and the locals on the course and in the bar took an interest in who we were and our thoughts on the course, very friendly. A definite go to course and the money was right too. Thanks P&K

Quirky, Fun, Excellent

Really enjoyed P&K. Such a warm wlecome and one of the better layouts I have played. Quirky in places and some really cracking holes that you will have to navigate around. Some of the views are quite spectacular too.

Great course

A great course with excellent greens that take some reading to get right. Some course restrictions in being but no adverse effects on the round. The front nine is slightly easier than the back nine. Stunning views across the course. Well worth a visit to enjoy the challenge ahead.

Great course

My first time playing here received a warm welcome from the Pro and advice on how to play the course. The tees are immaculate, fairways lacked grass over most of the course, which was a shame as was not in keeping with the rest of the course, the greens were excellent and gave a true fast roll. Lovely run of holes 11-17 through the dunes. Accuracy is key to good score. I feel that a coloured flags system for hole position would be beneficial as the greens are huge a couple of times the first putt was 50ft.

Brilliant

What a great course!
Front nine, reasonably gentle parkland. Back nine, breath-taking links.
The wind will play a part all the way round, even if it's only a gentle breeze.
Stunning run of holes between 11 and 14. 11 is a superb par 5 which twists off to the left and up the hill. 12 is a 180 par 3 where your driver is probably the best bet if the wind is in your face. 13 is the blindest of blind holes. Send a spotter up front. 14 is at the very top of the course, the views are stunning as is the dog leg.

Visited Pyle & Kenfig in March 2016. The Professional, Dylan was very friendly and made us feel very welcome, as did their members. He even fixed my mates Odyssey putter, at no charge before going out, a true gent. The club shop is well equipped with some lovely gear, the majority of it carries their club emblem. We went in the bar beforehand to have a full breakfast at around £6-7; superb.
The weather before we were due to go out was terrible, but Dylan recommended that we do the back 9 first in the event we were unable to complete our round. The back 9 was fantastic, a true test of golf, some really amazing holes. P&K are doing some great work around the course, returning the rubble paths to grass as they used to be. The fairways and bunkers were brilliant for the time of year; the greens had been treated so were not in the best condition but I would imagine that they would be fantastic in time. Unfortunately we were unable to complete 18, so feel that we really missed this treat, so hopefully will go back again, well worth the 2 hour drive.
Thanks to Dylan and the team, we had a very enjoyable time despite the weather and would definitely recommend to others.

Had the pleasure of playing P&K today for 25 pounds. The weather was cloudy with no more than a breeze blowing so ideal conditions. Simply put, I doubt if I have had such good value from a green fee before. The course was in lovely condition and the green were a joy to putt on.

First time we played this course. Front 9 is parkland and it is all laid out in front of you not many real blind holes- all solid holes - all well laid out. Then the back 9! Some truly great holes - the type that give you the choice of laying up safely and having a difficult second long shot ... or take on long carries over an expanse of dense gorse. Brilliant, take lots of golf balls and have a go!
