Course was playing well today, greens and fairways superb, and the curry and pint of Coors went down lovely in the sun.

Pontardawe continues to impress. It has to be the best kept secret in South Wales.

Paid just £12 to play on Monday 7th April; but heavy mist came in after just 2 holes limiting visibility to just 100 yards at most holes. Also heavy and non stop rain meant most fairways and several greens were unplayable.

However, the course design is very good, with very few long walks to tees and very few climbs. Pick of the holes are the 3rd, 6th 12th and of course 16th.

Very friendly welcome in clubhouse, shame about the weather. Course would be excellent value in Summer

Contrasted continues to impress. Yet more drainage work has been carried out over the winter. The greens and tees were incredible, given the recent wet weather. If you haven't played Pontardawe, you really are missing out.

Very wet ball plugging and matts 150 yards out. Hole 1 and 18 out of play as work was being completed.

Had a lesson with the pro which was excellent. Was surprised by the quality of the fairways and particularly the greens which were outstanding. A great layout with outstanding views. Outstanding.

Hadn't played for a few years but the drainage work that's been carried out really has worked, great course. The 4th is still recovering after some recent work but that can't be held against it, at least it shows that money is being spent on the course. Great value, friendly members, breathtaking views and a good pint with a warm welcome. What else could you ask for?

The drainage work that the groundstaff have carried out during the winter is really paying off, as the course is in excellent nick. The greens were a little slow but true.
My partner and I went round in under 3 hours, partly due to the members we caught up with calling us through immediately. Top marks for course etiquette. I CANT RECCOMEND A VISIT TO PONTARDAWE HIGHLY ENOUGH
We got back to the club before the bar opened, so made do with coffee from a machine: not ideal, but hey ho.
Only down side of the round was, despite breaking my handicap, I still lost the money.

The course has had extensive drainage work and shouldering of trees carried out through the winter and it shows. Very dry fairways and fast and true greens. The course is probably better than it has ever been.
Two adequate practice areas (one 6 bay covered range for irons only.) And the welcome in the clubhouse, both pre and post round, from members, staff and commitee is second to none.
Good, reasonably priced food in the club as well.
The best course in the area.

A very well done course with brilliant views fron the tenth hole and onwards. A few soggy holes but it had rained before my visit and it was the middle of Febuary. A warm and cosy club house to return to after a cold 18 holes!!!!!!!!!

A fine golf course overlooking the town of Pontardawe with magnificent views of the Brecon Beacons in one direction and the city of Swansea and the North Devon coast in the other.
The front nine is quite tight and accuracy is the key to playing the tree lined fairways, however as you gradually climb to the top of the course (where the views are) it does open out. Signature holes are the long par 4 dog leg 13th and the par 4 16th, that you play to a fairway 150 ft below you. If the wind is with you, you simply must drive the green!!
A lot of drainage work has been undertaken meaning the 4th fairway was a little untidy with preferred lies on at my last visit.
Very tricky greens with deceptive borrows.
After your round there is a terrific traditional clubhouse with a good selection of bar meals and a very warm welcome.
