Excellent

The courses defence are the greens , really tricky to read and variable pace. Great views and scenery and easy enough to find your way about. A couple of blind Tee shots into fairways but a really nice course.

Really enjoyed the course some challenging tee shots and greens held up well considering we picked the wettest weekend of the year to play! Back nine has some really good holes with the 16th being the best! Food good and welcome In The bar top notch will definitely play again when dry

hi being an older golfer of 71 years young i was a bit nervous about changing golf clubs, i need not have worried, from stepping onto the first tee to being one of the boys [and participating in the banter] took about 30 seconds and it only took that long because i had to change my hearing aid battery. seriously if you are looking for a top golf club and friendly people then look no further than pontardawe. good golfing rgds richard james ash

A hidden gem is what Peter Alice said and I agree, but I was a member for 5 years. Always well manicured with very good greens. Beautiful panoramic views from the 16th hole. No bad holes and some very good ones, lots of birdie opportunities. Getting round there is a good work out especially if you're carrying!

Pontardawe, is the best kept secret in South Wales. Club Championship had to be postponed the weekend I played, due to the weather preventing the ground staff from preparing the course!! Goodness knows how good it will be when they can. It was absolutely outstanding. Greens quick and true, fairways like carpets with clear definition between first and second cut and a great atmosphere in the clubhouse. Golfers breakfast pre round is highly recommended.

Paid just £12 to play on Monday 7th April; but heavy mist came in after just 2 holes limiting visibility to just 100 yards at most holes. Also heavy and non stop rain meant most fairways and several greens were unplayable.

However, the course design is very good, with very few long walks to tees and very few climbs. Pick of the holes are the 3rd, 6th 12th and of course 16th.

Very friendly welcome in clubhouse, shame about the weather. Course would be excellent value in Summer

Hadn't played for a few years but the drainage work that's been carried out really has worked, great course. The 4th is still recovering after some recent work but that can't be held against it, at least it shows that money is being spent on the course. Great value, friendly members, breathtaking views and a good pint with a warm welcome. What else could you ask for?

The drainage work that the groundstaff have carried out during the winter is really paying off, as the course is in excellent nick. The greens were a little slow but true.
My partner and I went round in under 3 hours, partly due to the members we caught up with calling us through immediately. Top marks for course etiquette. I CANT RECCOMEND A VISIT TO PONTARDAWE HIGHLY ENOUGH
We got back to the club before the bar opened, so made do with coffee from a machine: not ideal, but hey ho.
Only down side of the round was, despite breaking my handicap, I still lost the money.

The course has had extensive drainage work and shouldering of trees carried out through the winter and it shows. Very dry fairways and fast and true greens. The course is probably better than it has ever been.
Two adequate practice areas (one 6 bay covered range for irons only.) And the welcome in the clubhouse, both pre and post round, from members, staff and commitee is second to none.
Good, reasonably priced food in the club as well.
The best course in the area.
