Hidden gem - in great condition seeing as so busy, use irons not driver more
tight fairways and amongst the trees

Return to Pine Ridge

Beautiful day for Golf at 7.12am!
First time back at Pine Ridge since taking Society's here some 15 years ago.
I was not disappointed, fairways a bit scrubby in places but this is to be expected with the reason hot spell and minimal rain.
The greens were lush but slow, once again understandable as Pine Ridge has been working on a skeleton staff during the Covid-19 pandemic.

All in all a great day out on a busy course, worth coming back when teh greens quicken up which shouldn't take too long.

good public course

Good course just a bit to busy and a bit to rough round the edges.
But good value if you get a deal

Such an enjoyable course

Always have a great time playing pine ridge. The back nine is particularly stunning with great variance and shape in the holes. It will force you to play most clubs in your bag, as well as think about your course management if you want to score well.
The entire course is a fair challenge that is never too punishing in its design. At no point on the course is there hole you don't enjoy playing. In terms of cost and location, nothing really comes close.

Terrible condition

Really disappointed - i’ve Played a few courses this long summer and this was in the worst condition, despite usually being a lovely course.
Tees hacked to pieces, fairways with no grass (understandable), but it was the overwatered undermaintained long slow greens that really ruined the round.

Best the greens have been in years. fantastic shape.

I went back to Pine Ridge for a quick 9 holes. The course never disappoints. It has clearly dealt with previous issues around green quality and drainage on the first few holes. It is in outstanding shape today.

What a gem! First 3 holes set the standard really. The next few holes aren't as pretty but still great. The back 9 are stunning holes, based in the middle of what semens like a forest. Good layout and great greens. The club house is more like a family pub. Very welcoming and doesn't have the Privately owned club house feel. Very happy to return.

As a play and play course the course is acceptable, although damp areas, pitch marks and no pressure hose to clean shoes.

Great course, amazing facilities. We were very lucky with the weather and the course was set up perfectly. Not too difficult but still a test for low handicappers. Lots of trees but easy to find stray balls, although miss the fairway and the 2nd shot is never straight forward.

Very nice course, some very minor bad points, 12th tee looks a mess, this should be a signature hole so Crown should spend some money and tidy it up, paths are either covered with massive rocks or exposed tree roots, which makes using a three wheeled push cart very hard work, shaking it to pieces! not courses fault but the greens were covered in fresh pitch marks, it's a lovely course look after it people! on pretty much every green I repaired my own plus 3 or 4 others as said minor bad points, lots of plus points great bar, good food, great golf course in good condition overall its the best pay and play courses I've been to.

As good as 'pay and play' gets frankly. A thoughful course design that steers you through flanks of pines and swooping valleys to immaculate greens. Only niggle - the two of us got stuck behind some of the slowest, crumbiest golfers I've ever seen. The whole course seemed backed up with three and four balls pootling along without ever looking back. Just glacial. So yes, a fabulous course but be prepared for a long day.
