Spoilt by staggeringly unfriendly lady members. Book a tee time through golf now, take your money and told on the day the course was ‘closed’ due to competitions. Eventually offered a tee off on the tenth hole. Complained but got nowhere. Was told we had ‘only’ paid £20 each so what do you expect!!!! Look through the reviews, unfriendly members get mentioned a lot. Take your money elsewhere you won’t be appreciated.

One of the most boring tracks in the midlands and i've played a few, greens terribly slow, beer and food were good and the pro was friendly, on a par with bewdley pines

Great welcome but went downhill from there, pro shop well stocked, course very average and greens slower then I was anticipating. A few nice holes but in all honesty nothing to make me rush back. It wasn't that it was bad just boring, Nice pint in the bar afterwards.

Course was very dry could do with watering as grrens are almost impossible to stay on unless u lay up short and let it run onto them, wouldnt recommend to play unless your straight off the tee as the heather is so thick you can harfly escape in one stroke,

May Golf

Our May 4 ball was a toss up between here and South Staffs, we went for Penn as we had not played it in a long while. Sunny and Warm the golf was good and the course was average but for the price what is to be expected, a couple of nice holes but on the whole a bit of a boring track.

course was very average wasn't as good as the last time I played it which was 2 years ago . greens was awful not once did I have a true roll and was very slow . The 4 th tee box is terrible couldn't tee my ball up anywhere as there was no grass and the ground was uneven . I can say the fairways are beautiful but I go to play the greens not the fairways . The lady working behind the bar was very rude and very unhelpful .

Nice course, members not very welcoming

I have played here a few times and the course is in good condition and well maintained. Staff in the club are friendly, however this does not extend to some of the members who seem to resent visitors. At the end of our game one of the Penn members apologised on behalf of one of his group who was very rude to us. Nice course but other clubs in the area are more welcoming!

We were held up by 4 members who were extremely slow.

Having played Penn quite some years ago, I was looking forward to playing there again. Upon signing in, I was told I would see some changes, and that I did. However I would not say they were the for the better. It appears to be have been opened up considerably, meaning that a wayward tee shot is not punished as I found out, still having a shot into the green on the Second Hole. The course was extremely wet, to the point whereby I would not have opened the course for play, which is something that has dampened my view of the course.

Having said that once you get past the first few holes and get to what could be considered the truest more heath land part for the course, it is very picturesque, and challenging too. The Par 3's would be difficult if they were not on temporary tees (Artificial). It isn't a long course for the most part, and a careful approach on the tee will put you in good stead. Most of the trouble is clear able with a decent 5 Iron. A word for the brave, if you do miss fairway in certain parts of the course, don't expect to be scoring well.

The greens although heavily waterlogged ran true, and were pretty pacey. It was just a shame that the weather conditions made it extremely difficult to play a normal game of golf. Balls plugging in the middle of the fair way, isn't great even if winter rules are in place.

I would play again in peak summer to get a taste in better weather.

Final Thoughts: Green Fee Paid was more than reasonable, course in parts was very nice, (Similar to Enville but not to the standard), however I wouldn't be rushing back to play there in the immediate future

A fairly decent course, however there were 10 of us and using Five 2 Fore 1 Vouchers it still cost £20 per head. And £20 for a buggy so not a cheap day out. My overall opinion is in summer it would be a lovely course. Still not worth £40 green fee personally. may visit again in summer using vouchers.
